Can someone explain to me who "closes the threads"

Can someone explain to me who closes the threads. I'm just wondering.

Threads can be closed by a moderator for numerous reason(see forum rules), and in certain forums, such as supplier and classified, others can close a thread.

Moderators close and delete threads. They are present on every internet forum. They clean up threads and posts that shouldn't be there.

Unlike some other forums (gaming forums come to mind) there are moderators online that do a great job of keeping this particular forum in order. They do a very thankless job, voluntarily, and do it very well.
