Well, it depends on which type of tank you are talking about. Some 'tanks' are really just cartridges to hold liquid that are put on an atty. Carto tanks are a poly tube with end caps that you slip a punched carto into and then fill with liquid. The carto then stays wet as long as you have liquid in your tank and you don't need to keep topping it off.

If you're refering to the carto tanks they are just a container to hold juice. The cartomizer inside of them has a hole punched in the side of it to allow the tank to feed the juice into the cartomizer as you use the PV. As you can well imagine, the tanks are able to hold a lot more juice thus making your vaping time much longer.

While you're here...how many of you found it really easy to switch to vaping from cigarettes? I read a lot that people get their delivery and then smoke no more, did any of you have trouble in the beginning?

I think it depends on the person. Its a powerfull habit to break. I made the decision to not burn paper and leaves once I got my set-up, and it has worked for me. Do I still have some? Yes one brand new pack. But I tell myself why have one of those nasty tasting things when I can have a mouthful of any flavor. I dislike the cigarette tasting flavors so far.

Thanks all. I have a riva 510 with cartomisers, so i could use one with this? I will do further internet searching, they sound pretty easy to use, although I need to get to grips with the gear i already have before pushing on.

The reason I got a tank at the beginning was to not fill the thing at unopportune times. Fill it once and go about my day. Get a 3 1/2Ml one. Madvapes had it on sale yesterday.

There are many kids of tanks

1 - a "tank atomizer" with a spike that pierces hollow no-stuffing tank cartridges (ie 510-T and Ego-T) - many who buy these end up switching to cartomizers, same as most people who start with plain atomizers and stuffed cartridges. Most people prefer cartomizers for everyday vaping.

2 - a new variation on #1 called Ego-C, - a new special atomizer type and its own tank cartridges

3 - a CE2 tank mod - a large clear tank with CE2 carto guts (wicks and coil) inside and replaceable. Typically only use on fat big battery models and mods. CE2 tanks are dropping in popularity compared to #4

4 - a carto tank - a large clear tank with a replaceable sidewall-punched (or slotted) steel cartomizer going through the middle of the tank (also mainly used on big battery models and mods)

5 - other odd juice holding/dripping mods may be called tanks

bstedh, was it the withdrawal that your wife found difficult or not finding the right gear or liquids?

My wife's biggest problem was that you don't get the huge nicotine rush right away like you do with an analog. She wanted to be able to take a couple of puffs and put it down for a couple of hours. I tried getting higher nic juice but she didn't like the sting that it produced.
