Hello to everyone! I just wanted to ask a medical question. I’ve noticed that I am having something Terrible happen to me. I’ve been vaping to Two years now. Well, long story short I have been having chest pains for a while back I’m 25. I panicked and had to go to the hospital. That went well nothing was wrong but low electrolytes. Now I’m having this problem where I have frequent urination. Literally I don’t feel I empty my bladder. I’m curious to know if it could be the blend I use a 70/30. Long story short I probably vape more than I should pretty much say and night with 3mg of nic. And I’ve been tested for UTI, Prostatitis, Prostate enlargement. Everything came back good no sign of anything crazy. But could it be possible that I’m over doing it or possibly allergic to it?

I think you need to keep investigating other health avenues.

I took a trip to hospital in an ambulance 5 months ago and had a full 'screen' across the board. Since then, I have been re-checked for some certain things and have been today for one last test. My Doc thinks it's likely 99.9% negative.

The more I get tested for stuff, have X-rays and regular checks ups, the less I worry about my vaping.

Stress, life, diet can all play a part in your health. If you worry, you'll just get more attuned to listening to your body. Maybe you are allergic but I hope not for your sake.

Good luck. :)

As this is a vaping forum, we generally refer medical issues to be investigated by a medical practitioner. It seems that you have done that and have been cleared medically.

It is possible to have an allergy or hypersensitivity to Pg (propylene glycol), Vg (vegetable glycerin), or flavoring agents. The most common would be a sensitivity to propylene glycol, which could result in oral swelling and itching. Flavoring agent sensitivities could result in the same symptoms. Rarely, vegetable glycerin can cause a "heaviness" or discomfort in the lungs in some individuals.

The ingredients in e-liquid can cause dehydration, so beginners are recommended to increase their fluid intake.

You may wish to experiment with different Pg/Vg ratios to determine if that makes a difference.

I don't know. I never quit caffeine but I have cut down. My sister quit caffeine and was in a terrible way for a few months. Depends how many months I guess.

Off to sleep now. Getting up early to go away on a short holiday. :)

Your issues don’t seem to mesh with anything vaping related. Also it seems there’s doctors on the case so there’s very little useful to add.
Ive had the bladder thing. It’s a side effect of several medications. Also of getting old. If by “trouble emptying your bladder” you mean you wanted to pee and couldn’t though, that’s a different thing. That’s dehydration. You drinking enough water?

Chest pains, you panicked. Chest pains are a symptom of panic. Chicken or the egg?
In '09 I was panicking. I blamed it on nicotine until I was at 0mg. I think it was the PG. When I came back in 2012 I tried 100% VG, no problem.
Later I tried PG and within 1ml I had a problem. It wasn't panic but it was chest pain related (lungs) which would cause panic. I had a much better handle on anxiety in 2012.
Also you have the governments and public health trying to create panic.

And I’ve been tested for UTI, Prostatitis, Prostate enlargement.
Bet that was fun. Amazed after all that you didn't decide you weren't sick.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Part of vaping is all about you the vaper, being in control and the freedom to fix/tailor any aspect of vaping you feel you need to improve upon. You are in control.
"I probably vape more than I should pretty much say (day) and night with 3mg of nic."
Yes, you probably are way over doing it with nicotine hits. As mentioned above (re Myk above) suggest vape only VG and zero nic if you are going to chain vape "day and night".

Whelp not quite sure what to say here, other than go see a urologist. It could be as simple as something like a bladder infection causing retention, it could be something SUBJECTIVE, and my son has Interstitial Cystitis which is a HORRID condition and I am guessing you probably don't have I mean it's SUPER rare in men.

There is however this rather uncomfortable way to test for "urine retention," you go see your urologist and explain your symptoms and they may like, do this test where they manually fill your bladder with water, and get you to expel it, and they check how much goes in and comes out, and that is the way to test if you are having retention issues.

As to whether vaping could CAUSE that or not, I have no idea, but I don't even think the most EXPERT vaper on this site (and even if they were a UROLOGIST even) could possibly answer this. You need to make an appointment with your primary care doc, discuss all these symptoms and then Figure Out What is Going On and Sure you could include Vaping in the Mix, and they can try to help you get a diagnosis and/or a vaping plan.

But I'm not touching this one with a ten foot pole, other than to say constant 24-7 vaping is bad, mainly because it interferes with sleep so maybe like, slow down as you approach your (medically oriented) diagnosis.

Best of luck,

Anna

Doctors get paid handsomely to diagnose and remedy health issues. If your doctor can't answer your questions, or resolve your health issues, find another. I don't wish to offend, and understand why you are asking (why not? - maybe there's a simple answer to be found here among fellow vapers), but personally, I defer to medical professionals with regards to chronic health problems and proper care.

Drs are not all knowing. NSAIDs are contraindicated for my diagnosis, it is specifically named on the drug sheets, yet if I go to the ER with pain odds are they're going to try to give me NSAIDs.
3 months after cervical fusion I complained about new numbness from a different nerve right below the fusion and was blown off because they didn't work on that one. No post surgery physical therapy. At one year I asked if it was safe to go back to doing traction for that same problem, well then I need an MRI if I'm having problems, then I needed to have a test for something I knew it wasn't, and now I need PT, which I could've told them I would need even before the surgery. And that is something they see everyday.

If I had already been asking Drs and been through prostate exams because of it I'd definitely start trying to solve the problem elsewhere. I big reason anxiety consumed my life was because I accepted the wrong diagnosis of "all in your head" for a real problem that was diagnosed 29 years later. I didn't need to see a Dr in those 29 years because it was all in my head and I had already been through the torturous tests multiple times with every new Dr. It really should've been obvious before I started testing.
