Can super heavy vaping kill box mods?

I have given my sister three (3!) box mods and all have failed within 3 months. The one I kept for myself is still working fine. She is disabled so she spends much of her day immobile and is a very heavy vaper (but she's down to 0 - 6 mg). What could she be doing wrong?

Dropping it?

I've had the same AA box for like 2 years now and only problems have been with the batts or attys. Did you buy or make them

A cheap switch is a common problem. A good quality switch can take the amps.
Heavy vaporers can tend to hold the switch down too long, the switch shorts itself out or builds up too much resistance to let enough current through.

Thank you both for your replies. All three mods were purchased. One from one company, two from another. Humpty, I suspect you might be onto something re the switch. My sister is the one using them and she DOES tend to hold down the button...I bet that's it. She has not dropped them. She loves them and treats them like her children, none of whom she ever dropped as far as I know

Boxmods are usually easy to repair if you've got a soldering iron. Just desolder the wires, put a new switch in, and solder the wires back. Or you might just consider giving her something a bit more durable.

I'm a creaky, middle-aged woman more likely to view a soldering iron as a weapon rather than a tool. Or, as a weapon on a tool

Is she dripping an atty, have a leaky tank, or over-filling a carto? Juice oozing into a switch either on the outside or inside of the mod will kill a switch.

Over-filling is a possibility (she only uses cartos). She's been at it a year now, though, so she's pretty experienced at carto filling. She was just so friggin' happy when I gave her those boxes...the difference between them and the 808s she used to get off cigs is night and day. Thanks for the replies and suggestions!
