I have a mod with a 510 fitting, and I don't want to carry a large charger with me. Can I use my joyetech 4.2v out at 500mah to safely charge a 16340 750mah 3.7v protected battery? (AW)

I assume that the safe charging features are all onboard the little USB charger, and that the eGo chip has nothing to do with it. Is this a good way to regularly charge this battery? Does the chemistry difference matter?

Thanks guys!

Thats a bit passed the recommend charge current but would work if you have the ego circuitry inside your mod. Ideal charge current for a 750 mah battery would be 375mA.Ego chargers are 420mA. Without the ego circuitry it wont charge unless you have the switch pressed. So it is doubtful you can just plug it in and charge if your mod is wired up with a typical switch going to the atomizer connector

dont know if it was safe or not but for a short bit i was charging a ICR 14500 in a tube mod (no circuits) with an ego charger and taping the button down. seemed like it took longer than putting the battery in a regular charger but otherwise i didn't notice any problems. but might also not be good for the life span of the battery
