ok, quick question here.... ive got my current 3.7v 1800mah box set up so i can charge "in mod" using a barrel adapter female from an old cable modem and the cord that came with said modem cut off and fitted in an old 510 auto battery casing with said 510 battery connector. and charges via 510 usb 4.2v .2a charger.

now on to the question part, if i had another charger that put out 4.2v 1.5a and i converted it to connect to same mod would that hurt the 2x 14500 900mah ultrafire protected batteries i have in the mod ? or would it work fine but charge faster?

Your charger's amperage should not surpass your batteries capacity, as it will greatly shorten their life. Since the charger or mod you mention isn't balanced, you don't have any control of this. When the first cell would be done, the second would get the full 1.5A.

Better to get an ego style charger for this, or something else.

I totally second asdaq's advice on the Ego chargers. Combine them with a 500mA wall USB adapter and they make an easy charger for single cell or parallel mods, for about $9.

Simple enough for my 65 year old mom to use, and she doesn't have to open the case and mess with swappin batteries on a charger.

Yeah theyre in paralell, and I made something like that ego charger with an old 510 battery and am using my 510 usb charger to power that, I was thinking that the 4.2v 1.5a charger would charge them faster than the 4.2v .2a 510 charger if I was to put an atty side 510 connector on the 1.5a charger and use said 510 to barrel jack to connect it to my mod

Cool, so to get faster charge time its better to go ego charger then.

So in theory if I could find a 4.2v 800 mah charger my batteries should be safe ?

I've yet to come across a 4.2v charger that was higher than 650mA, and even then that was the Pila charger, but that won't be on-board.
