The National HealthCare thing scares the socks right off me.... because I can see it having far-reaching consequences. Once the Govt has their hands in that, they can start to dictate HOW we commoners live our lives....right down to the really nit-picky stuff...
how much/how often we eat
how much/often we excersize
Your individual lifestyle choices will be severely curtailed in regard to many vices... drinking, smoking, risky physical behaviours, etc... all will be curtailed, or downright eliminated, as the fed "decides" our common good. Remember, to them, the rabble (us) cannot be expected to make the right decisions.
And meds..... meds will become very huge requirements if Washington pushes their health care through.... we'll have a pill for everything, required to take it to receive all the wonderful freedoms we've been given.... they push this through, and we'll truly be rulled by Big Pharma.... a nation forced into addiction to legal drugs.
I'm a little scared of that too, but that's been happening for years under private insurance plans. A lot of people are currently denied employment because they cost too much to insure.
I don't have an answer,,, but I know what we have now isn't working for quite a few people. I'm not sure Obama will do better,,, but I was ready for a change.
We've seen health care become a larger and larger portion of the economy, as production was shipped to cheaper labor markets.
Did it bother anyone that American senior citizens were going to Canada to save money on thier prescriptions??
