You just don't hear it discussed much anymore. The arrival of the RM2 has made it nearly foolproof. But there is such a thing as Squonking. It is the act of squeezing the onboard bottle to feed juice up to the catch cup. Or something like that.
Does anyone else remember staring down the side of an atty at those four tiny notches in the juice cup ? Blind Squonking, anyone ? Am I the only one who kept a paper towel nearby ? Unscrewing and blowing out excess juice was so much fun !
I genuinely believe the RM2 is the perfect mate for a REOS. However, there are several newer faces in REOVille these days. Maybe if some of the more seasoned REONauts could share a few memories, or thoughts, on the Grand Scheme of Squonking ?

Ah yes, blind squonking...How I do not miss those days. When I got my first Grand 1 3/4 years ago, I was always over squonking and filling my pockets with juice. I was finally starting to get the hang of it, and not wear so much juice when the rm1 first came out. We have it so good now with the rm2, cyclone, the fb igo-s and many more options! If you are starting out with cartos or atomizers, just squeeze and suck till you feel the slightest bit of resistance and STOP! Your clothes/purse/book bag will thank you later! :D

Recently moved in to REOville and I still haven't tried the RM2. I plan to purchase one along with a upgraded contact kit when they come out later this month. Both of my BF RDAs were modified by myself and I notice that blind squonking is also dependent on how large the feed hole is on your RDA. I have only had a couple of weeks so far to master the Art of Squonk but I have gotten better, no more removing the top cap or staring through my driptip, simple 3 count for 3/4 to full bottle and 5 count for 1/2 to lower 6ml bottle.

Thanks for trying to help us new squonkers, everyone deserves to squonk with the best of them without getting juice all over the place :p

I've tested out some really old atomizers for fun and it isn't as easy as it looks! I was constantly flooding so I gave up in about 10 minutes lol. Not sure about the RM2 but with a Cyclone, one good squonk will soak the wick and then drain all the excess back in. Ive owned this combo for a few weeks now and I got the hang of it within half an hour. As the bottle gets below half full, I have to double squonk, holding the press for like 2 seconds each time. I'm guessing the concave drip well and hole size on the Cyclone makes it super efficient at draining all excess juice. I remember seeing the REO a long time ago and never bought one because I wasn't interested in drip atomizers or cartos. I just recently found out that bottom feeding rebuildables were available which was all I needed to pull the trigger. I wish I learned about this when the RM2 was first available!

Yep, me too...guess us newbies in town have it easy.

Because of my Trade (Trucking) I was in a situation where I had to blind-squonk from the start. Without looking or fiddling. My method was something like this; Without firing, take a draw on the drip tip while applying light steady pressure to the juice bottle, AS SOON as I sensed (or felt) a slight change in pressure, release pressure from the juice bottle. If there emitted a slight gurgling sound, it was too much. When done properly, this worked. While keeping one hand on the wheel and both eyes on the road. Took some getting used to, but this technique worked for me.
