Where does the time go ????

Just watched Wayne's video again and realized it was Feb 13 2012 ...... crazy it seems like just a couple months ago.

Makes me wish I had one of those Chinese staples .... dum dum dum ... the "puff counter" .... Not !

But really I wonder how many times I've pushed the button on my Cocobolo VVW ???
Gotta be at least 50 times a day X 300+ days .... Yowzer its never failed me once.

Congrats Rob, you've made some great stuff but I'm a wood guy and a VV guy so this is your best product IMHO.
Cant wait for them to come around again .... :D

Wow, the standard woodvil will be 2 years old next month ......

(Picking on Wayne again) :D

BTW, mine looks just like that ..... Still 2 years later. If I polished the brass I could pass it off as new.
If that REO could talk it could get me in some real trouble .... Its been around to places I shouldn't have been :)

Great post Tim I to forget how much time has passed .vv woodvils I am looking forward to another build myself . Now if I could get you to do a video on how to treat your mods .

I would be glad to but I'm afraid it might make some people cringe a little.

I only have two tricks when it comes to woodvils .... One is pure mineral oil .... Safe enough.

The other is 0000 steel wool  It cleans them up great before I oil them.
I'm sure some people don't realize how soft 0000 wool is. But thats why I never like the poly finishes they throw a wrench into my whole system :D

I am with you on the oil finish but people like shiny . I do plan to do more natural oil finishes on the next run

It's not just the aesthetic of being shiny (though that's certainly nice), whatever finish you used on my walnut mini Woodvil has proved to be remarkably durable; it looks exactly as it did the day it arrived in August, 2011. By rights, since the outside's never been waxed, it ought to be a bit dull & show marks from wear, but it doesn't. I like that. A lot.
