Question is in title.

I normally just boil water and throw my cartos in there, but sometimes it doesn't seem to clean out some of the cartos that I used sweet juices for. I was wondering if Boiling alcolhol would do a better job. I am scared to try though because I dont want anything blowing up in my kitchen.

sorry for sounding like a noob.

I haven't tried it with cartos, unfortunately, but I do use vodka in a sonic jewelry cleaner to clean out my attys, if that helps (doesn't have to be boiling, just room temperature works fine). Put in about a half-cup of vodka, put in the attys, turn on the sonic cleaner, walk away. Come back in 10-15 minutes, stir 'em around, make sure that they didn't end up playing lego and stacking up on each other, walk away. Come back again in 10-15 minutes, pull them out, put them on a towel, and let them sit for about 24 hours so all the alcohol can evaporate. Voila, clean attys.

Myfreedomsmokes has something similar that I was thinking about getting, the plunger (since I'm already ordering VG and PG from them). With just rinsing, though.. doesn't the flavor and thicker gunk remain? What happens to the hardware? Solder comes loose? I haven't had anything happen YET, the fill dies on me first.
