I just ordered 6 bottom springs from COV. The first did last me a few days until it "collapsed" ? I just tried 3 mor but everytime something goes wrong. I finally put a spacer in (on bottom and it turned black, the springs as well, they were copper colored and are now black). I only have a few left and don't want to mes them up too. What's going on here, or rather what did I do wrong again? Using my Stealth with a viva nova tank but that should have nothing to do with it, also tried different buttons but again, spring immidiately turns black. Is there a wrong way I can put the spring in? Sorry for having to bug you guys constantly, I don't know what's going on anymore. Thanks so much.

Thanks for thr bump and advise. Got it after about 10 min. So a short would create the spring to collapse and turn it black? I have no clue what ohm I'm using right now for the viva nova tank, but in case I have a 2.8 Or 2.4 head inside (instead of the 1.8) would that create a short in a 3.7 device? Thanks and I'm glad you guys are here.

if you use China stuff then you will always have those kind of problems my dear silver. China atomizers get shorted very easy because of the silicon between their center pole and their case. The solution to your issue is to first unscrew the center pin of Stealth, screw the atomizer and then screw by hand Stealth's center pin again until it makes contact with the atomizer. That way you dont put much force on the China stuff so you dont short it

Bruce sells some pretty good atomizers and cartos Silver. Still Chinese but better than most

I buy all my cartos from Bruce. Since I posted I ordered 8 springs and have blown up 5 already. I switched to the Vivi Nova tanks, have 2 and am waiting for another version 2.5 in the mail. I can't go through springs like that, it's a pain. I wish I could figure out how to work Penelope but I'm just too blonde ;) Thank you Imeo but I have no clue what you said. Maybe I should look at the drawings at some point. I just want to vape without having to fiddle around. Still love my 1606 though, the one and only mod I have.

I think I know what Imeo is saying. You can unscrew the centre pin from your stealth from underneath as per the drawing here:
http://ggwiki.et.com.mx/index.php/GG_Stealth

What he wants you to do is basically unscrew the center pin in the cap and then install your vivi nova or whatever you are using and then screw in the stealth centre pin until it just makes contact with your vivi nova. The pressure seems to be too much for the device and it's causing a short in your vivi nova or whatever.

The spring is functioning as it should because when it detects a bad short it torpedos itself in order to prevent the battery from doing anything bad. By blackening it basically breaks contact so that nothing worse happens.

Unfortunately I don't. I really appreciate all the help and its really not that big of a deal to replace the springs (well, until I run out again). I know it's not my Stealth's fault but me being completely incapable of adjusting or fixing anything. It usually doesn't happen with the cartos very often, it really went haywire once I used the vivi nova, could the ohms I use on the coilheads have something to do with it? I switch from 1.8 to2.4 or 2.8 ?

Not likely. That posative post is designed to be adjustable so issues like this dOnt happen as much. Basically what is happening is the pin is pushing in the pin on the carto causing a short.

Imeos advice is really very simple. Just unscrew the nut on the under side of your stealth cap a cople turns. Put on your carto and then tighten the nut till you start feeling a little resistance and you should be good. That or try not tightening your cartos on so much.

I have to agree...they are so cheap and so good to have around.

I've made dozens of Penelope and Ody coils and I was twisting together a dozen yesterday so I could have a stash. Grabbed my meter and did a quick check on them all. All were 1.8-2.0ohms and ONE of them was 5+ohms. I re-crimped it a few times and it kept showing weird ohms so I pitched it. Glad I didn't use it would have been a giant waste of time.
