I just got my #616 and I am using an AW IMR 18650 hi drain in it. It worked for a while then all the sudden it started to short. I thought it was the atty so I threw a new one on and had no problem. Then after I took it apart and put a new battery on it did it again...

My button was getting hot at first now the spring on the bottom cap is getting hot. still not firing. So I stripped it down to see what was wrong.

turns out it has to do with either the button or the bottom cap. cause when I take those off and make a connection with anything medal it fires. I'm kinda disheartened. I have two friends that one GGTS's at my work and they rarely have problems with them. Non certainly like this.

Please any help would be amazing. I loved it when it was working but now I can't get anything out of it... =[

if you take off the cap and make a connection in another way, it means that you release the pressure to the atomizer, so it works my new friend sean. That also means that you screw hard the telescope and you short the atomizer. So please dont screw it hard.

Welcome to GG family sean:)

Just screw the telescope until the GGTS just fires and just a bit more. No need to cinch down on it and compress the battery spring.

We need to highlight the "Hiss Method" in the stickies for all the new GG members; there's been quite a few lately who have shorted out atomizers by overtightening.

been seeing that this "hiss method" being mentioned a few times, but can't seem to find any distinct guide to it.

just to be sure, am i correct to say,

1. unscrew the bottom cap / atty
2. attach atty
3. extend/unscrew telescope
4. screw in/attach bottom cap / atty
5. hold down power buttom and slowly screw in telescope.
6. stop when 'hissing' sounds come from atty firing up
7. screw in just a tad bit little more (1/8 or 1/4 turns??)

cheers

It sounds like your description is correct too -- in Para's particular post he doesn't mention screwing it after the atty fires, but I have seen somebody mention it. A 1/4 turn after getting the atty to fire should be safe!

This method is very helpful but valid only for standard GGTS. :)
With the fuse protection upgrade in the GGTS the 1/4 turn at the end is not a good idea, just screw it until you feel resistance and the atty fires. :2c:

You do not need to remove the bottom cap (the cap that has the post and negative bottom spring). You just need to release the tension with the telescope. If you are replacing the batts, just remove the catch tank assemble at top. The only time you should have to remove the bottom cap is when you are cleaning and re-lubing everything.

If any of you budding porn stars er, I mean YouTube experts have the time and willingness, please see the Instructional video thread.

I am trying to get two much neded videos made (in English). Replacing the 2 small O-rings on the connector pin and Para's "hiss" method.

I know the hiss method is simple but sometimes when some of our new friends for who English is not a first language, pictures or video work well.

Please contact me if you have the time/equipment/willingness!

Thanks! :)
