thank you for posting this Wolf , i will still stick with my gut and not order these product from this vendor unless they would be remove from joyetech copycat/unauthorized list.

I too really think your gut is letting you down.. want to see personally lots of satisfied and well taken care of Canvape customers.. come to the Montreal vape meet.. check this thread for the next meet update..
Canadian Meets and Events

You will also get a chance to see lots of other stuff bought from many of the suppliers on ECF and others..
You will also find out from many longtime vapers the different stuff they have bought from all over the web in their own trek of finding stuff that worked well for them..

Personally I find Joytech in violation of Canadian price fixing laws.. here..Price-fixing - Competition Bureau

Maybe they will see this and eventually move some of that price fixing profit into our government coffers..

I think that applies more to competing vendors, not really the relationship between vendors and manufacturers. I've seen someone say that joyetech's "msrp" was good, and helped even the playing field or some nonsense. But you are right, it's just anti-competitive, and pretty much forces price fixing.

I think what joyetech is doing is called "price maintenance" which also violates Canadian law.

msrp are everywhere from autos to lumber that is no price fixing that is suggested retail ever manufactur of any product has the right to enforce they msrp and choose not to sell to those that attempt to sell for less, sure it happen but when manufactur find out they will certainly have words with the seller on this and if seller were to continue then i am sure manufactur will no longer sell to them.

for now canvape.com is unauthorized to sell joyetech products, for me I will get those products elsewhere but still will by other stuff from them but will be sure to let others know to get joyetech stuff elsewhere to be on safe side.

Just as juice is subjective, so is equipment and choice of vendors....that is what the forum is for (more so the power of the internet) power of different opinions :D (which is what old soldier was trying to get to)

I think that it is great that we have a supplier in Canada willing to give us lower prices and offer the genuine product! Unauthorized just means that they are not following the higher MRSP price or offer other brands as well as the genuine brands(more selection). The whole list is an attempt to price fix and slander the competing brands. Like another poster already said, it was probably a competitor who noticed(or was informed of) a sale price on a Joyetech product and reported Canvape in order to use it to their advantage.

Canvape will continue to have my business. I have bought three Joyetech Twists from Canvape almost four months ago and they are all still going strong! I am all for lower prices, and Canvape has the lowest prices and the excellent customer service is the icing on the cake!:toast:

My :2c: on the matter:

I have had the opportunity to see the documentation regarding this from Joyetech, and you are correct, the unauthorized list is a "punishment"-their words- for vendors selling Joyetech products at a lower price than they allow. The new barcode system has been implemented in order to track items sold and whom sold them, more than to ensure their authenticity. The document goes on and on with "punishments" to vendors that don't play nice......(I am not implying any of this is good nor bad, I am just sayin :))I suppose i can see both sides of the argument, customers want their products at rock bottom prices, but a vendor that can buy 10x the amount of another guy can afford to sell for a lower price and therefore kill the competition, and in turn other vendors might not bother to carry the Joyetech products causing loss to Joyetech. If that makes any sense :p I am still working on coffee #1 for the day :)

That makes sense to me... but I do think the price fixing is the real issue and vendors should be able to offer it at whatever price they want. If they kill the competition because the competition wouldn't compete, that is capitalism and that is how it should work. The vendor will make more money selling at a lower price by selling more volume. If Joyetech really wanted to stop it they would stop offering bulk pricing, but that would also hurt their profits as more volume means more profit to them as well. I think Joyetech is trying to have the best of both worlds... they want to profit off the larger orders while still protecting their smaller buyers(i.e. price fix) so they can make the much larger profit margins form the small orders.

I bet nothing will happen to any vendors on the list anyways, it is done more to appease the smaller vendors so they will continue to buy the products at a higher cost and give Joyetech a higher profit margin. Only time will tell, but I bet Joyetech will not cut anyone off as that would lessen their ability to produce higher quantities at a lower cost per unit, and therefore be cutting into their overall profit margin.

wow, I smell fanbyism...

If one person doesn't want to purchase a product from a specific vendor, let it go.
The forum is here for freedom of choice, not favouritism.

My :2c:, It's just a logo. Clone or genuine, it's still just an eGo.

This is a supplier/distributor issue, why are people that don't work for Canvapes or Joytech getting all worked up?
Let them deal with it themselves!
If JoyeTech has rules for selling JoyeTech products, they are fully within their right to do so.
If i made a product, i would like to protect my Company too.
Can't follow their rules, sell something else!

To the OP,
why are you okay with purchasing other products(mostly clones) from CanVapes, but not the "unauthorized" Joytech products.
Your logic makes my head hurt....

I don't care what logo is on the product. I have a genuine joyetech ego charger that fried a few days after buying it and a unbranded one I got from dx.com that has worked perfectly for the last 6 months. In the end, it is all just mass produced Chinese "quality" merchandise.

As for Canvape, I'll buy from them no matter what Joyetech puts on their site because I know they wouldn't knowingly sell me complete garbage, and if something did slip by that had issues, I would be taken care of. And honestly, Joyetech doesn't exactly sell anything mind-blowing must-have anymore, so...

I don't believe arguing against the price fixing and making sure consumers know that unauthorized doesn't mean counterfeit, is fanboyism. I use many vendors, and I will always shop for the lowest price I can find. I'll then research the company and see if it has a good reputation and then make a decision. I mentioned the vendor listed in Canada as it is relevant to Canadians, but there are other big vendors from the U.S that also got tarred with the same brush and though I have never ordered from them, they do have good reputations from what I know.

I'd rather have unauthorized vendors that are selling below MRSP than have no choice on price... I think that just favors the vendors. What will be next, the e-juice cartel that has been brought up elsewhere? :p

Any vendor that bucks the system and gives the customer the lower price and the best service will win in the long run. There are some vendors I wouldn't even consider ordering from as after browsing their site and seeing the prices, I couldn't care what their service is like. And Canadian Tire pricing schemes with inflated prices and coupon codes or inflated prices and "now on sale" turns me off as well.

In the end, I think the list is a farce anyways... likely Joyetech had many complaints from vendors wanting to sell at the higher price and wanted to officially appease them by putting out this list. Unofficially, I bet nothing will change. Maybe I will be proved wrong, but there is a lot of profit in those stores listed as unauthorized.

We can speculate about prices as the cause, but it has nothing to do with the topic.
The problem is with the "unauthorized" use of the brand name.
If Canvapes wont play by JoyeTech's rules, then why sell a product from a brand that doesn't want them?
Take the name off the site, and the problem is solved... Joyetech is just one brand of many.

Everyone is crying about distributor prices like it makes a difference.
If i'm in the market for a cheap eGo. Why would i care what name is on it, or who i get it from...

Those bashing are just as bad as those defending.

I bought an eroll from Canvape and just did the authenticity test on the Joyetech website. It passed. It is authentic Joyetech.

I don't bow at the Canvape alter like some seem to, but I have yet to be lied to by them, and would have been shocked to find a copycat item. Their Joyetech is Joyetech. Lots of other stuff they sell is knockoffs or re/unbranded, but they are always upfront in mentioning this in their descriptions.

I'd imagine Joyetech sells to resellers that don't comply because ultimately they still want to sell product. It's a balancing act though- they have a brand that's recognizable and obviously don't want a reseller passing off fake stuff as theirs. They clearly feel their items are of better quality and they probably are. But everyone knows how people are on the internet- sometimes all it takes is one bad experience (or heck, not even that...) and all of a sudden there's a "JOYETECH IS CRAP- NEVAR BUY AGAIN!! BEWAREEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" thread that thousands of people see. Now, if you were Joyetech, wouldn't that tick you off if what that person was complaining about wasn't even your product? You didn't even get the money and now you have to take the reputation hit. So that's their side of the situation.

(As a side note, I do find it schadenfreuderonically hilarious that a Chinese company is worried about counterfeit items. How times have changed...)

That said, they should respect their resellers that aren't pulling bait and switches. It's one thing to try to keep them loyal and another to put them on a stupid list for punishment. You do that and then other resellers might get fed up with how they've been treated and not sell Joyetech anymore. It creates a dynamic situation and there's a bunch of ways it can go bad on either side.

In terms of MSRP, that's in place in a lot of industries and it's mainly to keep resellers happy and level the playing field for them. I don't see anything particularly wrong with it. If one of you had a business selling something and your competitor was consistently undercutting you there's a good chance you'd get kind of upset and go back to your supplier and ask them to enforce the MSRP. If the product is good enough then resellers can do nothing but comply because they don't want to lose that revenue stream.

Thing is though- if they're all buying at the same wholesale price and one guy wants to take less profit per item to beat the next guy on volume......that's his gamble. That's where it gets tricky for Joyetech with the stupid list. Unless what the reseller is doing is really ugly or it's actually starting to hurt their sales or reputation elsewhere due to the confusion or a loss of unhappy resellers/customers, they should probably just turn a blind eye to it instead of going the heavy-handed name and shame. I'm all about using the carrot and/or the stick, but that seems like a bat to me.
