I'm not sure what you're saying ElectroGalvanized.
Here's what I think you mean:
The 'silver head' is the metal cap on the positive end of the battery. The plastic molding is the thin sleeve that surrounds the battery. The chip is what is between the positive cap and the battery.
If this is accurate, I suggest you stop now. I've never done this but I do know if you short the positive end of that battery to the negative casing you will have what may turn out to be a serious problem. A problem that may explode in your hands.
Let us know if what I think you meant is what you're really doing. Also, what is the battery (make and model) and why are you trying to do this?
