Congratulations! It is a wonderful thing not to have to go out into the cold. Keep up the good work.. :)

It's been raining the past couple of days, being able to vape inside is certainly better than standing out in the rain like a schmuck. In Utah, we have a long winters and summers and short springs and autumns (at least that's how it feels to me). If it isn't freezing, it's scorching hot. It's nice not having to be at the mercy of Mother Nature. I'd much rather vape in a climate controlled environment...

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I know I can do this!

I still get people waving at the vapor. I wave back.

*Snort* That's awesome.

LibertariaNate, it's so heartening to read this. You say "only" 18 hours but I've never gone without cigs that long (not including sleeping. Well, sometimes I did count it to be more dramatic.) :p I'm waiting for my 510 to arrive.

Welcome! I'm counting years now. I think it must be over 2. At some point in the first 6 months, any thought of cigarettes drifted away. Then every few months I dropped to lower nicotine. No schedule just whenever it felt right. Now I vape the lowest nic level. I may go to zero at some point. Keep it up and soon you won't recognize all of the clerks in your gas station. Have some fun with flavors, and try different devices, cartomizers, and attys. You'll stumble onto your perfect combo and you won't look back. Congrats! I'd wish you luck but I'm betting you're already on board. :)

You can buy smokes at a gas station? :p

I was strictly a RYO kind of guy. I don't think I've actually stepped foot in a gas station for a few years now, so I already don't recognize any clerks.

I just purchased a DIY 5v box mod from MadVapes to give higher voltage a try. I've tried LR and regular atomizers in both 306 and 510 varieties... Lots of different juices... I'm also going to try some DIY juice mixing, you know, for the fun of it... While my wife is ecstatic I have quit smoking analogs, I think the blank check is about to be taken away.

I completely understand.....on Friday it will be 30 days!! And as soon as I vapid my first one....no more analogs for me...my husband still has that have pack that I never finished. I have been a 22 year smoker and I have also tried cold turkey, the patch and the gum and NOTHING worked...because I actually like the action of smoking and inhaling.....vaping has been the greatest thing for me, my health and my family!!

I smoked for years, and never developed any noticeable nicotine addiction. I could easily go a few days without smoking IF I never encountered a trigger. If I did anything that I associated with smoking (having a beer, hanging out with friends, or having a cup of coffee) I HAD to smoke. The psychological addiction was much more prevalent. I vape much more than I used to smoke just because of the convenience, but it's made laying down the analogs for good as simple as it could possibly be.

After my previous attempt at quitting had failed, I took a long hard look at my triggers. My biggest trigger by far was alcohol, and since I drank every night, it was going to be impossible to quit smoking. So before I tried to quit smoking again, I had to quit drinking. I had my last drink on July 27, 2010.

I'm four days into this now. Yesterday was the worst so far, but my pv helped. I don't vape constantly... Just when I feel a craving for an analog.

The dreams last night were intense. Not so much nicotine dreams, but I would wake every time I lit up.

Day 3 was my worst day too. I had to vape some of hubby's juice (slightly higher nic) for awhile to get through. I've been back down to my own since and I'm going to cut back my nic on my next order.

The reason that all FDA approved cessation methods are like that are because they don't want you to enjoy it. There are tons of reasons for this, but it boils down to the same reasons that drugs are illegal. They want to take away your freedom and your ability to make decisions based on your own understanding of the risks and consequences. They control whether you can sell unpasteurized milk across state lines, for god's sake, they're a bunch of control freak dictators.
