I've got just enough spare cash floating about to buy a new mech and one of these tanks to start to replace the stuff that was stolen out of my car the other day.

After a little research, this is what I like about these:
Kraken - Adjustable air flow. tank is protected a little better. A bit smaller than the other.
Pulse-G, reduced chamber or dual coil setups possible.

Things I don't like:
Kraken - gennies leak
Pulse-G - Reports of coils shorting on the chamber reducer, doesn't come with all hardware to run dual coil. Gennies leak.

I'm leaning toward the Kraken, it's smaller, adjustable airflow and looks pretty nice. BUT, the versatility of the pulse sounds really nice too...

I've also looked at the Kayfun styles. I love the idea of them, improved flavor and leak resistance, but they are just HUGE. To the tune of 20-30mm longer than these 2. Plus they are a little out of my budget at the moment.

Opinions? Alternatives? Looking to stay under $20 including shipping. Thanks!

Might not come as a surprise to some: my vote is for the Kraken. It's not like it has a huge chamber. One plus is that the fill hole is on the small-ish side, so it may not leak if left on its side. Don't take this as gospel, tho. It may vary with room temperature, temperature changes, fill level, wick snugness, and the mentioned liquid viscosity.

Should mention I don't own a Pulse G or clone thereof. I've considered it, but would rather just buy another Kraken.

For the KFL being leakproof? Try Norwegian winters and subjecting it to drastic temperature changes. There may be ways to wick it to avoid this, but mine is no-good for outdoors winter vaping. It will dump some of it liquids going out, and some of its liquids coming back in... and the rest if left in my bedroom when I open the windows to sleep.

I really like the kraken as well. but for some reason i cant stop with the taifun using a mesh wrapped wick, just ordered the mini tank to make it a little more travel friendly. my KF's sit setup and empty.

wish they would make a 3-4ml kraken now lol in any case if you want to try a geni, the kraken rocks for flavor with some thick dense couds.

I think I'm going to order the Kraken. Any issues running it with cotton? I really don't want to mess with mesh.

I've never tried it. I suppose you could. But if you're opposed to using mesh, you may be happier looking into a vacuum feed type device, such as a Kayfun.

Indeed. However much I love the Kraken, gennies in general and mesh wicks... I see no reason to get a gennie for the sole purpose of using cotton/silica wicks. If I didn't much prefer mesh wicks myself, I'd preach the gospel of Kayfun.

FT has a kayfun 3 clone called the rocket for just $13.I got the chromed brass & it looks great & vapes even better, huge clouds, flavor,no leaking, easy topfill. Its getting better reviews than most of the s.steel kayfuns that cost $20-$30.They also have a new kayfun 3 in chromed brass for $15,no reviews yet though.Kraken has a 15-business day wait at FT.Use coupon-XMAS,it is good until 29th for 5%off.

I have my Kraken *clone* set up with a micro coil and cotton, works pretty good actually. but, if you want to use cotton I highly suggest either a real kayfun or a clone from FT or whomever. you just can't beat a kayfun with a micro coil and cotton IMHO :) reliable, no leaks, perfect wicking, and outstanding flavor!
