Can't find the perfect mix

Hopefully this new thread will get me on the right track!!!!

First, let me say that if you haven't already you should create your own thread so that people can help you, as there is quite a bit about your original post that could be addressed.

With that said...

You're about to go back to regular cigarettes and you haven't tried a manual battery yet?
I hope you're planning on trying one before you give up.

That sounds very strange, not sure I've heard of that yet.

Are you talking about when you get it in your mouth?
Or when you get some on your skin?

The reason this is important is because you may very well need higher than 18mg strength.
You didn't say how much you used to smoke so it's hard to say, but 18mg is a bit low for many.

Yeah, sounds to me like you need a manual battery.

Thank you so much DC2 for your post. I'm so having a major issue with myself trying not to go buy a pack of cigs.

Since April 22 when I purchased my first PV I've only smoked 10 cigarettes. I was smoking a half a pack a day of the 120's before. Which is probably equal to a pack or more of the regular size cigarettes. So yes I have very much cut out smoking the cancer sticks as they have become known as these days. I was so close to buying a pack today it was almost like a war inside me going on. You could just see that little angel / devil on my shoulders. LOL The good side won I didn't purchase a pack but I'm puffing on this 510 like there's no tomorrow. Grrrrrrr!!

As far as the reaction it's almost like an allergic reaction where my skin feels like I've washed with a poison ivy leaf just burning and itching. I get the same reaction if I use certain types of shampoos or soaps. It's mostly felt on my face and eye lids. I don't get that reaction with anything 9mg or lower just the high 18 and above. Call me weird because for sure my body is these days. Getting away from nicotine completely is something I very much want to do.

I'll check into the manual pv and see if that is any better. But the auto 510 I have is awesome for the vapors and works well for good vapors. It just feels like I'm sucking air and then blowing out the vapors. A total comparison to breathing in and blowing out in cold weather. You get nothing but the vapor steam from blowing. I guess at the moment I'm just missing that feel in your throat like you actually swallowed a bubble or something. Okay I told you I was weird so sorry but that's my silly crazy cigarette smoking nicotine addicted life.

As far as the weird feeling on your skin depending on the nic level, it micht not be the nic, you might have an allergy to PG E-liquid. I would suggest purchasing some VG liquid at various nic levels to see if you get the same feeling.

Regarding the 510, auto bats suck in my opinion and manual bats are in. If the 510 is not doing it for you it is either the liquid or you need more power. I suggest purchasing a 5v 510 passthrough and seeing how you like it first before you go out a buy a 5v mod. Madvapes has a nice 5v passthough for a good price. USB Passthroughs

Let us know how you like it and the VG juice.

What is the difference between the automatic and the manual beside the button? Does the manual actually work better? I need to buy another battery because after 2 weeks one of my new 510 batteries is totally dead. It won't charge at all. When I plug it up the light is green but nothing when I puff on it. Grrrrr!! Thank goodness the kit comes with 2.

I don't suppose there is a difference in the atty's for the 510 so if I just order a manual battery will the atty's I have work??

Also what about this drip tip I keep reading about. I'm assuming it's fine to dip right into the 510 atty's at least I hope it is, that's what I've been doing. I do drip into the cart filler at times but I seem to get a better vapor when dripping right into the atty.

I do sometime get a bit of a burnt or even a battery taste but heck when I think back it still taste better than the real cigarettes. LOL I still want the real thing though dang it and I don't know why they stink, taste bad and even make me feel kind of bad. Now if that's not being an idiot I don't know what is. :w00t:

We posted at the same time Col and thank you for your reply. I'll check into the VG but the passthrough for sure is NOT for me if you smoke it while it's connected to the computer. I'll have to passthrough on that one. LOL

1st.. if your dripping, that's probably why you have a dead auto battery.
2nd.. Yes, the atty's will work with the manual.
3rd.. the manuals are sealed so they're better for dripping and you get better control of your vape.
4th.. Drip tips are almost a must have for dripping. You don't have to pull them off and put them back on.
5th.. that burnt taste is either the cartridge filler or your atty getting dry. Don't let that happen.

And finally, buy two manual batteries as your other auto probably wont last much longer with dripping.

the final finally.. I'd suggest an eGo battery instead of 2 regular 510 batteries. It's will last about 4 times as long between charges. Just a suggestion.

The automatic battery only activates when you start to inhale on your e-cig because it is activated by a pressure switch. This causes you to waste time getting the atty warm and you don't really get a good vape out of it. A manual battery activates when you press the button so when you start to inhale you are already dealing with a hot atty and you will have better vapor production and taste.

I don't suppose there is a difference in the atty's for the 510 so if I just order a manual battery will the atty's I have work??

No, there is no difference in the battery connection for the atomizer on a manual bat or an automatic bat. You might also want to try a low resistance 510 atomizer which makes a 3.7v device feel like you a vaping on a 5v device.

Also what about this drip tip I keep reading about. I'm assuming it's fine to dip right into the 510 atty's at least I hope it is, that's what I've been doing. I do drip into the cart filler at times but I seem to get a better vapor when dripping right into the atty.

A drip tip takes the place of your cartridge. So a person who drips will use a drip tip so that they can put drops of liquid into the atty without having to remove this tip and is more comfortable then putting your lips on the atty or less troublesome then taking a cartridge, removing the filler and having to remove the cartridge every time thy need to put more drops on the atty.

I do sometime get a bit of a burnt or even a battery taste but heck when I think back it still taste better than the real cigarettes. Dripping into the atty is fine but the problem is you need to find out from the seller if the battery you are using is sealed. If it is not and you drip, then excess fluid can get into your battery and kill it. Sounds to me like your batteries are not sealed and I would not drip into them anymore unless you want to kill them like you did with one of yours.

The manual bat. allows hitting the button a second or so before inhaling so it starts vaporizing (instead of huffing & puffing- j/k auto. bat. owners) to get it to go so I agree you need 2 manual bats. If you want more time out of the bats., there are longer 510 XL bats.

Oh Wow I guess there's still a lot I need to learn on these things. Shoot I suppose I'm going to be killing my 1 battery soon if I continue to dip.

It's going to cost me a fortune to find the perfect combo I'm afraid. I've already spent $350 since April just trying to find the right mix. Financially I think it would have been cheaper to keep smoking. Physically for sure NOT!!

Well blast it all I guess it's back to the drawing board to find the perfect pv and liquid and I better keep reading and doing more research before I jump into more wrong pv's.

Hate to say it but all this isn't helping me not want to go out and get that pack of cigarettes.

If you really feel you need the cigs then have one - I mean, don't let them have such a power over you that they are drawing you towards them at the signs of stress. Its ok - have one - it probably wont taste the way you remember anyways and its really better to do taht than go into super stressed out mode. We aren't anti-smoking nazis here - if you're about to blow, take 5, have a cig, and then go through everything you think you might need to get, come back here, list it all and we'll help you go through it.
Im sure a lot of us have fallen back on a cig at times of great stress and its not the end of the world as long as you dont fall back into 'pack per day' mode.

LOL... We aren't anti-smoking nazis here ..... That's to funny and for sure I never thought you guy's were and even if you were I would still be super grateful for all the wonderful help all of you have given me.

I'm determined to find that perfect pv and never ever look back at the real thing again. It's just going to take time I'm sure and I'm not the most patient person around there days. lol

Sheryl, check out Tasty Vapor sub forum on here and his website. They just started selling the ego batteries for 15.00 and the cone for 3.00. He will have the kits up sometime this week. I really think you will be happier with the Ego. I love the 510 but the ego rocks. If you do decide to go with another 510, Geoff has those kits for 25.00 also, that is about as cheap as it gets, I think.

Good luck to you and hang in there.
