I smoke very light cigarettes, 1mg as they used to mark on the packs.
Been trying out my new kit the last few days, trying to get used to it.
But I got some 18mg juice and it seems very strong, three or four puffs
and I get that dizzy feeling, like when you first started smoking.
Anybody else go from very lights smokes to ecigs, what Nic levels did you try?

I was an ultra light smoker at 2 packs a day. I've vaped 24mg juice for years. I probably should taper off but 18mg juice is a little light for me. Throat hit is tied to nic content. You may be one of those lucky people who can drop down to low levels and still enjoy.

If 18mg makes you dizzy, you can draw lightly and infrequently or drop to 12mg and try it for a test. Various atomizer types will produce less or more vapor and nic from a given juice. You might try some different atomization methods to see. Variable voltage is another way to dial the vapor level up and down to your taste.

Everybody reacts differently it seems. However, I smoked menthol lights and started at 12mg. Cut that down pretty quickly. Get some 0 nic juice in the same flavor, it's easy to cut a 18 to a 12, 9, 6, or 3. I'd check out the 9 or 6. I used a disposable 18mg to try this out, it didn't make me dizzy, but I could tell it was too strong.

Thanks.
I have a C-twist with a vision ego cardo, not a changable coil though.
It all seems to work well, way better than the 510 I tried, and I just got a mini Nova I wanna try too.
Think I'll take that advice and get some different levels, and mix them up. BM store real close to me too, yaaa!

Hopeful I can get the right mix with this setup and juice and take the plunge off real smokes.

I think it's also how much you smoke really - not just the strength. I smoked light menthols for decades - I couldn't even touch a full strength without getting a head rush and choking. Many of my friends would say I was smoking 'air.' But - I smoked one after the other - not exactly chain smoking but close so I was getting more nic in the course of the day than I realized.
I started at 18mg and it seems to be right, but in the morning I likely could use a higher content - later in the day less.
I have a Twist too and I noticed if I dial up or down that seems to affect the strength - I could be wrong tho - it might be my imagination.

I erroneously sent my sister a 3.7volt Riva with SM1.7 cartos and 12mg juice, she then told me that she was using ultralites, so was coughing and choking.

We're going to try some 3.4egos with 2.5 cartos ( if I can find them), but I think we'll stay with the 12mgjuice for now.

We're starting with Unflavored juice, thought it'd be good to take the flavor issues out. She doesn't know what she's missing, so it's working OK. :)

I wonder if a 3.0 OHM carto is too low on a 3.7volt batt?

I hear ya Spectre, regular cigs choke me.
I tried the patch once, almost killed me, in a manner of speaking. After a few hours I had to rip it off.
really makes you wonder about what's really addictive with cigs.

One thing, after reading many topics on these forums, I feel I know alot more
about smoking than I'd ever get from the government agencies in place to help me.
btw, I'm 50, been smoking for 30 years.

For me, I had smoked lights for 10 years and proceed to buy 18MG.

I was constantly getting throat irritation and thought it was PG, so stepped to 18MG 100% VG Juice
    Still throat irritation

As soon as I went down to 6MG nic, I could vape all day, and no throat irritation; meaning that it wasnt the PG for me at least.

Sure I vape more though :D

As has been pointed out, everyone's different.

I had been a three pack-per-day smoker of ultralight 100s. When I was using an atty/cart combination, I vaped 3.0-3.5 ml. per day of 24 mg./ml. with no problems. That seemed to be just about right for me. Then I got into Stardusts and Vivi Novas on VV PVs, and my consumption went up to about 5.0-5.5 ml. per day. I dialed the Vitamin-N down to 18 mg./ml., and now that seems about right for me.
