Hello,

Now that I've been using my smok al85 with spirals tank (70vg/30pg honeydew low nicotine on 35 watt) for a while, I'm noticing that the satisfaction gets less and less with each day. Not particularly because I'm missing a sensation in my throat or get cravings for nicotine but it just feels like im breathing in nothing, like I get a little fruity sensation with my exhales and a big cloud but it just feels like breathing to me instead of actually... inhaling something. Is there a way I can get denser vapour or something? Reckon I need a bigger vape?

It's becoming really frustrating, keep trying to hit my vape to get something good out but it just doesnt feel right any more...

There's several things you could try before moving up to a more powerful mod or different tank.

It sounds to me that maybe your missing a "throat hit". Throat hit comes primarily from the nicotine concentration of your e-liquid. Maybe try increasing the nic.

What happens if you increase your wattage setting? That should result in more and denser vapor.

Try adjusting your air intake on your tank.

Try different flavors. It's pretty common to get "flavor fatigue" if you limit yourself to just one flavor.

You may be getting flavor fatigue if you are just vaping one flavor. It happens. I might try some different eliquids, especially since you were satisfied in the beginning.

The other possibility is vaper's tongue, where your old damaged taste buds die off and are replaced with healthy ones. It usually happens after just vaping (no smoking) for a while, usually around a month but that's a guesttimate it's different for everyone.

I would try varying flavors before giving up the device, and if you think you may have vaper's tongue, search for it on ECF, you'll get lots of ideas and remedies to make it pass faster.

A MORE powerful, lower resistance vape may give you more vape, or even denser vape, but it may likely (possibly) be less flavorful, not more. It also kind of depends on the flavor, some flavors taste lovely at lower wattages, some others taste worse. I'd try some different flavor ideas before switching up gear though probably.

When I try to increase wattage even further I get dry hits (I get dryhits if I inhale too long on this one too). When I close my airflow it gives me a hit in the back of my throat (MTL) but theres no vapour.... which doesnt feel all that satisfying.

I dont really care much for feeling it in the back of my throat, I just like feeling the vapor in my mouth instead of it just feeling like breathing.

The spirals tank comes with an RBA section, you didn't specifiy if you're using the rba or replaceable heads, that's why I asked.

Cleaning replaceable heads is a 50/50 deal, sometimes they function okay, sometimes not.
When they get gunked up time to replace, if you're using low quality or dark, colored, overly flavored & especially highly sweetened liquids they might last anywhere between a 10 - 30 mils, clear non sweet with reasonable flavoring % 50 - 100+ mils.

Yep, you need a matching wire type for whichever TC mode you use. Ti, Ni, SS.

I believe there are tanks out there that are designed for a more restricted DL or looser MTL. I'm not all that familiar with a lot of the newer equipment (just started vaping again after a hiatus) so I'd need some help pointing you to something, but it sounds like you're looking for something along those lines since you said you wanted to feel the vapor in your mouth.

Or maybe even a tighter MTL? If you go up in resistance and down in watts with a tighter airflow you might find a coil that performs better for MTL hits, if you're wanting a more cigarette-like experience.

Just sort of thinking out loud here, I'd need some help to fully answer your question. Maybe this can get us pointed in the right direction though.
