I started 3 weeks ago with the intention to quit smoking.
This sounds like a big reason for why you are approaching it the way you are.

Very few of us wanted to quit smoking, and few of us intend to quit vaping.
So we are looking for something that satisfies us enough to not want a cigarette anymore.

I am trying to be careful, that is why I went up to 30mg and not 36mg right away. The ones I like at 24-26 mg are keepers for now.

It is a process that will take some time but it is worth it.

I look at vaping as an healthy and hopefully more socially acceptable alternative to smoking. I have enjoyed smoking (as sad as that is), just my body, lungs, etc. and other people didn't and don't.

This could be the best of both worlds right here if I can make vaping work for me.

Try not keeping your analogs handy. Put them somewhere that's "inconvenient" for you, somewhere you have to actually think about having one. And like others have said, don't fret about what you do smoke, you didn't pick up the habit in one day, so don't expect yourself to guit in a day, or a week, or even a month. For me, I found just making it inconvenient for myself was enough and totally forgot about smoking an analog for 3 days before I realized "I don't smoke any more". Another thing is I carry my e-go with me the same way I used to carry my lighter. You know, "Always be prepared" and all..... I used to smoke 2+ packs a day and still will light one up every once in awhile. Then I choke, gag, and brush my teeth and tongue! Something else you can try is to find a flavor that you just love to vape and it'll make those analogs a lot easier to forget!

You're right. I'm actually happy that I didn't land on the perfect combination of PV and juice for me (and I'm sure it's out there) because then I'd have just substituted the habit. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, just that my intention was to break my addiction.

I don't have a problem with cigarettes or smokers and have no problem with PV and vapers, but here's the thing: My first conscious thought each morning for the vast majority of my life has been, "I need to pee." It made me feel weak and disappointed with myself that somewhere along the line my first thought each morning when I awoke became, "Should I pee or smoke first?". As things stand now, I'll go an hour or 2 before filling cartomizers for the day and not be climbing the walls. A month ago, I'd have been willing to walk miles to the store, mugging someone along the way for the money to buy smokes (if it had been necessary).

I'm more than grateful that I found this forum and have been able to break the mindless compulsion of my addiction and feel confident that I'll soon have the addiction broken altogether...

What's making it really easy to vape this afternoon is my boss is gone, I am in the office by myself, and I can just vape away inside.

Did not have to go out and stand outside in the cold and the rain as I would have had to smoke an analog this afternoon at break. Now that is a slice of vaping heaven for me. :)

i am really trying to make vaping work, but as it is, i am still smoking. i did however go from a pack+ a day to ...well, a pack will last me about 3 days. i guess baby steps are good, but most people just kick the habit right off the back.
tomorrow i should get my 510 kit with the ce-2 ceramic cartos. i really want to make this work. has anyone had the same troubles?

Yeah it sucks. Each day I still feel like I want a "real" smoke. hey it is what it is. We smoked and we are addicted! The e-cig makes it easier but really does not "change the fact" ...it sucks! ...I hope things improve. I stopped on May 13th and I'm doing good but still wonder if keeping supplied with nicotene is actually good to really stop. We smokers have are demons we have to deal with unfortunately!

I was very lucky, I stopped the same day I got my first 510 over 5 months ago, but I was using 36 and 48 mgs. I soon graduated to a Screwdriver with lr attys then a 5 volt. I was one of those that had no intentions of really stopping just cut back so I was totally amazed when I realized I didn't need a cig any more and finally gave them away because I had no desire for them. I was getting everything I needed from the e-cig, nicotine, TH, and lots of vapor. I've cut back some on the nic, but I doubt I'll ever be nic free and I know I'll always want to vape because I enjoy it so much.
