Can't post anywhere but here

Hello,

I'm getting an error anytime I try to post anywhere but the new member forum (says I need to activate or my account has been suspended). Any idea what's wrong? I didn't receive an email to activate, so maybe that's what's wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

i think you have to spend some time in the new fish bowl before your allowed to start threads elsewhere. 15 posts worth i think. you can post anywhere though but you cannot start a thread outside of the new member forum. this is to prevent the main forum from getting cluttered with newbie Q's and also acts as a spam deterrent.

or something could be messed up.

after 15 posts u can post anywhere. the 15 posts just help keep the spam under control.

You can post replies to threads in other sections, you just can't start a new thread until you've hit 15 posts. It's mainly to stop spammers I think.

I seem to have turned into a 'full member' after 10 posts - admittedly I do go on a bit so some of them are really long. Perhaps it's a word count thing?

Can understand the notion of becoming Senior/Super etc if you carry on posting like a demon - are there numeric breaks for those too?

What I'd really love to know is how you get to change your designation to something like "Quaffer of Ale" which BadSeed has acquired. <Envy>

Oh I'd love to be financially stable enough to become a supporting member - maybe next year. Pleased to see that it looks as if quite a few people have though which is good news for the health of the forum.

Still sick with jealousy though... looks as if Kate's changing hers every day - probably just because she can!
