I love syringes. Delightfully useful little things. I use them to rinse out my cartos prior to boiling (thinking about picking up the mfs plunger adapter for that reason), fill up my cartos, and mix flavors somewhat accurately. I currently own 30cc and a 10cc syringes, and a variety of the little stabbers. I prefer using beveled needles, I find they are easier to slip into that crazy tight fill on the Boge cartos, while the blunted needles tend to pack it down and make it impossible to fill. Haven't stabbed myself once, and I am a pretty twitchy guy. Both needles and syringes tend to break on me after a couple weeks or so of use, even with keeping them meticulously clean. I do use them A LOT. I have to fill at least 4 cartos twice daily.

Aaaaanyways, I found I preferred mixing flavors of juice from various venders rather quickly, as most of them alone are kind of meh. So now I am leaping into entirely making my own juice. I like the idea of using 10cc syringes to measure out fluid. I don't like 30cc, too much room for error. 10cc is just right. $18 for 100 of the suckers on amazon, which is ok, I suppose, but you can't get em with needles, which I also need. Now, I don't need 100 of either needles or syringes, but it seems I can only get them together in sets of 1 or 10, both of which are waaaaaaay overpriced. Cheapest box of 18 gauge beveled needles I could find was 12$ for 25.

So, I'm looking at 30$ before shipping just so I can get something to measure fluids and fill my cartos. I'm already blowing 200 on cartos/atties and 200 on diy supplies -half a liter of 100 mg/ml nicotine from wizardlabs (before anyone tells me to avoid 100mg/ml - NO! I like owning dangerous things, have a vented room, and lack children), a liter each of vg and pg from mfs, and around 120$ worth of flavors from Capella (I think...). On top of that, buying a .... ton of bottles and boxes for storage. I don't really want to spend that much more on needles. I poked around the venders here, and everyone seems to charge around a buck a needle/syringe combo, unless one goes overseas, and I really hate waiting for registered airmail. Anyone know of a better deal? I don't need 100, 30 or so would suit me fine. Advice on good bottle supplier would also be appreciated. I need 20x each of 10ml, 30ml, and 5x 100ml (for storing the nicotine).

Hope you get your count up in time, but you can still read that forum area. Pretty sure the question has been asked before, so you might just do a search this subforum" to find something.

A lot depends on your state/city laws as to what one can buy "over the counter." I Purchase a bulk rate of needles used for diabetes/tb at the local drug store. Anything that I need that is larger I can get from my vet at his cost (known him a long time and he has taken care of all of my pets for the last 15 years).

May not help much, but might be worth a try.

Hello,

I have 2 cats with CRD. Both of them require nightly SubQ infusions of LRS in order to survive. That means I need good needles - lots of them. I get them from https://www.thrivingpets.com/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=needles&x=34&y=14 in boxes of 100 each. And yes, they sell syringes with needles attached, too. Free shipping over $55.00.

Also, if you have a Tractor Supply store anywhere near you, they also sell needles and syringes in all sizes except for the tiny ones, (ie: insulin syringes; which I also use as one of the above cats is an insulin dependent diabetic), which you can generally get RX free from any Walmart, or Walgreens store.

Bear in mind that the higher the number on the needle, the smaller in diameter that needle is. You are probably needing 14, 16, 18 gauge, tops, for use with your refilling and pg/vg. For the liquid nicotine, I assume that 29 to 31 gauge would work fine as it is a much thinner fluid.

HTH,

I had forgotten about Tractor Supply, I use them as well to get PV (yes I get food grade before anyone feels the need to grief me). I think one can order from Tractor Supply's web-site as well, but no idea as to the shipping costs. Having moved around many states, some syringes (with needles) are Rx only, some are "under-the-counter," and some are "over-the-counter."

As Dormouse said (and she is always right) just respond with a thanks (or a drop-dead for that matter) and you'll get your 5th posting after the wait for the system to update.

I buy my syringes for DYI at tractor Supply. They are in the Equine section. They have 3, 6, 12 and 20 ml sizes and they also have 14 ga needles wich you will need for VG. (they have a larger diameter for thicker liquids) I found them when I started amking carto tanks. They are cheap and they don't look at you "funny" when you check out with a basket full of different sizes and a box of needles. They are not "sterile" but I just wash them in dishwater before use.

Hope this helps!

You might also try the local vet if your Tractor Supply doesnt have them...

Oh boy, thanks for the replies. I like that pet store link, ill have to poke around and see if they have the 10cc 18 gauge combo i need. I use rather thick juice, 18 is as small as i can go. Sharps comment= epic luls.

I may also keep lurking ebay and amazon and see if I cant find some decent ones for a reasonable price. I searched the forums a few times but I haven't seen anything about larger orders than 10. I havent seen if people have a preferred plastic for bottles either, I'm curious if the cheapies will color the flavor of fluid. I would think so, bases on the comments about syringe mods ruining flavor, but some of juice bottles are shipped in the cheapest feeling crap plastic imaginable and I haven't NOTICED a signoficant flavor coloring happening. Then again, most of them taste like crap to begin with. Not nearly as bad as bad shisha, though.

There are several other online vet suppliers who do not require an RX when purchasing syringes/needles for the most part.
Here are a few more for you:

Pet Meds | Dog Supplies | Pet Supplies | Pet Products | Pet Supply
1800-PetMeds® - Huge Savings and The Best Guarantee
Pet Health Supplies | Pet Supplies | Revival Animal Health
Pet Supplies, Vet Supplies, Horse Supplies : Heartland Veterinary Supply at Discount Pricing

I do have my own personal preferences of where to order from, but again, I am ordering items for actual veterinary care :p
I prefer Thriving Pets overall because I can use PayPal to pay them and they are extremely prompt in shipping whatever it is that I order from them.
