Hello guys!

I have a VapeFly Brunhilde MTL rta
disassembled the whole thing to clean it, but now i can't put back the topcap fully, the 2nd O-Ring pushes it back up a little (i didn't took off the O-Rings)
Tried putting juice on it, it just made it worse.
if i put it down with force, it comes back up again slowly.

Any ideas for a fix ? it happend before, but fixed it self, but now its not xD

Hi KeewieChan... and welcome to ECF. :)

I've had that happen with mine after disassembly (per the exploded view in the manual) and a thorough cleaning. In my case I didn't rebuild it straightaway. I left it sit for a few days (I have other RTA's).

When I tried to put the top cap back on it was difficult and looked like your photo.

What more than likely happened is the 2 o-rings (under the top cap) expanded.

For me it was a very easy fix.

Take some juice and slop it on both o-rings. Be very generous in applying juice. Slop it on!!! Work it into the o-rings with your fingers. Add more juice to both o-rings.

Put the top cap on only to the first o-ring and rotate it in both directions. That will help in getting juice worked all around that o-ring.

Then firmly push the top cap down over the 2nd o-ring and again rotate the cap in both directions. That will get juice all around that o-ring.

You may have to repeat the process with more juice again.

Eventually your top cap should go on more easily and you should be able to easily rotate it in both directions.

If that doesn't fix it then have a real good look at the lower o-ring. Is it misshaped, have a bulge somewhere or feel loose?

If so, replace that o-ring. Slop juice on the new one before installing it on the deck. Once it's on the deck put more juice all around the o-ring. Then try the top cap.

Good luck!

Hallo
I tried your advice, the top O-ring now shows almsot 0 resistance, the cap slides left and right very easily, it almost goes on, but still thats not it the original problem still presists.

Did the top cap fit over the bottom o-ring? And rotate easily?

Can you post a photo of the build deck without the top cap on?

When you took yours apart did you remove the positive post? That's the one with the insulator below it?

If i take the deck out the liquid gushes out on the bottom :D
(the terminal goes down, and has the 510 on the bottom of it, and i didnt took it apart, just took out the deck as a whole)
edited in the picture later :D
it fits over it, but hardly rotate, and if i let go comes back up

Here's mine...

Both build posts are level.

Look at yours. Are both posts level?
It's hard to tell in your photo if yours are. If the positive post is sitting higher then that could be why the top cap isn't fitting properly. The positive post is the one on the left in your photo.

Ok, you don't have the spares. Then remove the bottom o-ring and move the top o-ring into the bottom position. Does the top cap then fit? If it does then your bottom o-ring is bad and should be replaced.

Are you able to get the spares baggie from your friend?

i should. but a friend gave it to me after 1-2 days of use cus he didn't needed it so i dont have the accessories either
I measured the 1 of the 2 deck o-rings.

Those are 1.5mm x 18.5mm Buna-N 70 Duro o-rings.

If you can't get the spares from your friend maybe you have a hardware store nearby that sells o-rings. They don't have to be Buna-N 70 Duro o-rings. The size is what matters.

I use a dental tool to remove o-rings. A small flat-bladed screwdriver will also work.

Gently work whatever you end up using under the o-ring. It will slide underneath the o-ring and pull it outwards from the groove it's installed in. Then you can gently slide it off the base.

well i did it in the meantime, removed the bottom one, the cap still dosnt fit, i remove both and still dosnt fit than i dont know for sure

EDIT : the top one is the problematic one because now it fits
EDIT2 : without o-rings it fits, if i add 1 regardless to the top or bottom it dosnt anymore

I'm at a loss as to why your top cap isn't fitting properly. I've looked at mine for possible clues as to why this is happening with yours but I am not finding anything.

I am going to ask our resident Brunhilde person if he has any ideas. He's in Australia and usually doesn't come online until around 7am Melbourne time.

@Daniel Forsyth, do you have any ideas that might help?

0 clues, but something with the o-rings because without them it works, just of course it's not snug :D

Oh ok, I'm sorry, I misunderstood your previous post.

So the top cap fits without the o-rings?

If that's the case then you need to buy some new o-rings. You need 1.5mm x 18.5mm Buna-N 70 Duro o-rings. If a local store has the correct size but they're not Buna-N 70 Duro o-rings that's ok.

It makes me wonder, because you said this has happened before, if your friend may have replaced the o-rings with a slightly larger size. That would account for the top cap not fitting properly.

There are quite a few people on ECF who have the Brunhilde MTL RTA. I haven't heard of this problem before.

I Highly doubt, he barely even used it
Regardless, thank you for the help, time to buy o-rings it seems :D

    Somewhere between here and there
I don't think it's the same problem but I had taken mine apart and it wouldn't go back together right. The o ring that sits inside the metal cage and meets up with the glass had move out of the groove and it was a real pain getting it back in place so the glass would sit flush.
