Can't Seem To Get a Good Vape

It's been a rough week. Without giving too much backstory, let's just say I need a good vape to keep my head level.

I ordered an Ali'i back in November, and it treated me well until I dropped it a few months back. My atty stash is running low, and I can't seem to resurrect any of my old ones (510's for my eGo). I threw on a new atty yesterday, only to find there were no vent holes on the battery end, hence no airflow and DOA (EM LR510's... FTW??? ... ...WTF ... ...). The one I did put on is some sick kind of miracle... It leaks like crazy, but when I go to pull on it, it's dry.

I also decided to give cartos another try. Clearomizers, and CE2's I think. I guess they don't work too well with VG. I've actually never had any luck with any types of cartos.

I'm also pretty sure my eGo is on it's last legs too. It's all making me pretty sad faced.

So now I'm looking to upgrade. But here in Canada it's rather difficult to find anything other than the eGo or 510.

Anybody with suggestions, advice, or encouragement, please feel free to share.

I think you need to thin VG w/ distilled water or pure grain alcohol to get it to flow better in cartos, tanks, etc

I don't really use attys much so I can't help you there. And I think 510 stuff is some of the most available stuff in Canada. You know there is a Canada forum on ECF? They would have a better idea about what you can get quickly and maybe there is someone near you with an atty.

I order hardware and juice from the USA all the time with no problems, The selection and prices are so much better. Try a dual coil cartomizer, I think they work great. Check out Avid vapor, they ship very fast, to my mailbox in a week. There are many others. Hardware should not be a problem with customs. Watch the low res cartos on the Ego batteries, I fried three batteries before I found out not to use them on small e-cig batteries.

Sounds like it might be another mod you are looking for....? Tube type ? Box type ? Variable Voltage ?
Lots of the vendors here ship to Canada.....maybe a little more info on what you are thinking of ?

Can't the Ali'i be repaired ?

Sorry to hear about your situation, it's a bummer. I've noticed that when I tend to leave atomizers unused for a while I need to add a little extra juice to get it going. Have you tried direct dripping onto the atty?

Yeah, I'm in touch with a bunch of canadian suppliers, I'm just thinking I need a change from the eGo. Just not sure which direction to take.

I'm sure the Ali'i could be repaired, but it would take somebody with more skill and patience than I have. I'm sure when the money is there I'll be in the market for a new mod. While I've been dripping for the past 6 months, I don't think I could get down for a tube mod. Having the feed system made me a bit snobby about dripping.

As for cartos, I have tried numerous types, and I can't say I've been satisfied with any of them. I've always found the vapor to be substandard and the flavor and throat hit nearly nonexistent. Not sure if I've been doing something wrong with them, but I'm hesitant to go back there.

Have you tried the dual coil cartos, if not you should give them a try. I never liked any of the other types but was pleasantly surprised with the duals.

i'm using ego with clearomizers and lr 510s and loving it! Of course, i'm still a newbie to vaping!

First off, you have tons of options, so don't get sad. If you stick to the ego's you can always use a low res joy attomizer, with a drip tip, it works great, the last poster brought up clearomizers, they are nice with the ego.....In the middle of reg and low res atty's.....

Now if you want a mod, I just bought a Silver Bullet from Alt smoke and it is really nice, although a bit large, It can use 3.7 or 6v power on either low res atty's (3.7) or HV atty's (6v).

I have not tried anthing else so all I can recommend is the ego or Silver Bullet.....I would take ur time and look around first instead of jumping at the first pretty mod you see. Or you could order a nice 1100 battery Ego with a pack of low res atty's and drip that for a while as you take ur time to choose a mod so you end up with something you like and will use....then you will still have the ego's for ur pocket when on the go...If you still have your ego charger then just buy a new battery and some low res atty's...Problem solved...

I vape VG, too, and I like how GotVapes vortexes work with VG juice, so if you're up to trying yet another carto, I'd recommend them. They've received mixed reviews, with some people reporting a lot problems, but I've been using a few of them (I'm a two- or three-fisted flavor-swapper) for a week and I've had no issues. I don't know how much they charge to ship to Canada, though. I also found Boge cartos to perform quite well with VG juice.

Hey nerve, I have the exact experience that you have had with cartos especially the ce2/ clearomizer type ones, personally dont think they work with pg either, they just cant wick fast enough for the long draws that I take. A couple other people have mentioned the dual coil cartos and I have to put a vote in for you to give those a try because I am shocked by the flavor and throat hit that hese things deliver. A couple suggestions if you do order some of these. Since you vape vg, you will really really need to be patient while filling these, I would even venture to say to drip 5 drops let it settle for a min or three and repeat over and over until you get to roughly 50 drops, drops can vary widely so it could be more or less, but make sure that it is filled completely, it is also a good idea to maybe even let the carto sit for 15 minutes after you get it totally full just to make sure that it soaks in completely. After that long painful process you should be ready to vape but if you take a hit and there seems to be a bit too much liquid, take it off and blow out a little bit and try it again. These things do have a bit of a break in period before theyvape at there full potential but for me personally they are amazing especially in the throat hit and flavor departments. I have noticed that vapor production for me isnt quite as good as other cartos but that is an easy trade off for me. You vaping vg might change that for you though. I guess they are not recomended for egos or standard 510 batts but some people use them anyway. I know you said something about not liking tube mods but the mod I have been using most lately is the roughstack v2 with a dual carto attached, from madvapes.com, you can also buy the extension tube, which I have, for hv vaping. The reason I like this mod for out and about is it is pretty durable but its also cheap and the switch can be replaced by yourself. Being so cheap I feel like I do not need to baby it, and am not afraid of getting a few scratches on it. Check some of this stuff out, it might just renew your excitement and make you happy once again.
