I really don't think I'm ever going to be able to taste again. I've been vaping almost two months. The first two weeks, I tasted every juice, and they were very strong. For the last month and a half, my e-liquids have had either no taste at all, or very, very slight taste. Same juice, same bottle, etc. just can't taste them anymore. I did a little research, and from the information I've gotten, it's the nicotine from smoking that causes a loss of taste. if we're still getting that nic from the ejuice, how is it that our taste buds are repairing themselves? for the many years that I was smoking, I had a very strong sense of taste and smell. that is gone now. I was waiting patiently for my taste to come back, but it has been a month and a half now, and I am starting to think it's gone for good. It is not enjoyable or satisfying in the least to vape something I can't taste.

Your taste will come back. Sometimes if changes day to day. Are you using pg? Drinking more water helps. Also I have found that if I use the same juice constantly, my taste buds get so used to it, I don't taste it at all. Switching to s different flavor s little while seems to help me. It's much the same as with air fresheners. If you have an air freshened in your house, after a while you won't smell it, even though new people do. It's because your body is so used to smelling it every day. Once you change the scent, you smell it again

The taste buds will return IMHO. The PG coats the mouth and throat area. I rinse/ garge with water and fresh squeezed lemon- helps wash away the coating and stimulates the saliva glands. Also repose Vaping dehydrated- I drink 1 1/2 liters water per day and careful about consuming too much coffee or soft drinks. You could also try a lozenge to help stimulate the saliva glands.

It happened on and off during my first 8 months or so. Very annoying! I cleaned all my atomizers .. then I had to break them in all over again and still couldn't taste my juice. And did I waste a load of money on juices during those no-taste phases! LOL I threw them all out when my taste finally returned because I couldn't stand their smell or taste. I really, really doubt that you've lost your sense of taste permanently. What about your nose? Can you smell everything like you used to? Maybe it's your sinuses or maybe allergies ... but that's just a wild guess.

so you guys think even after this long it will come back? sorry, I know my original post was kind of a whine, but it's bothering me today. I keep thinking it will come back, but day after day it's the same thing. I drink tons of water, I switch flavors throughout the day, etc. oh well, I guess there isn't much else I can do about it, so I'll try to deal with it. I don't think it would be so bad if I hadn't been able to taste from the beginning, then I wouldn't realize what I was missing lol
your reassurance that it will come back does help, though, so thank you

I'm going through the exact same thing right now...
I can smell things I just can not taste nothing even sweet food..
I was Vaping a Menthol & Cinn. Mix and I have learned that Cinn. Can do this to you...
Its been about a week for me, this morning I tried a Apple e-juice and I could taste if for about 30 minutes, then it went back to nothing...

What I do to avoid loss of taste is to rotate between three totally different flavors throughout the day. I usually have a coffee mix, a fruit and a creamy sweet flavor. It works well for me.

When I have had flavor loss, I vape unflavored for a day or two and my taste returns. Hang in there. It will all work out for you :)

I also have similar problems from time to time and as it has been mentioned before....it's usually because I have not been drinking enough water. It is a little odd to hear X Smokers talk about something so "healthy" for you, but it's more than that. Water and I mean lots of it is survival for vapors. If you don't get enough water, your sinuses can become sticky and gooey from the pg. A coating can get on your tongue and down you throat. You can just feel generally icky because you are becoming dehydrated. It is probably the third thing you need the most.

1. PV or e-cig as some call it.
2. Tasty e-juice
3. WATER

If you are going to be a vapor, you are going to have to drink tons of water. I hate water. I have had problems my entire life and still do. LOL I preach to myself too, so don't take it personally. I just have to make myself drink water.

Another thing is when you stop smoking, all kinds of things are changing in your body. More than you can imagine. Your body is trying to shed years worth of poison and chemicals accumulated. Some of these will come out through your nose and mouth, as well as your urine. People don't talk about that much as it is rather personal and undignified, but true non the less. It is going to take you a good six months to get everything in great shape. Hang in there. You are in better shape than you been in years! When I have these episodes, I vape unflavored juice for a couple of days and drink lots and lots of water. I find usually after 3 days, I am good to go again. Another thing that I do that I haven't heard of anyone else doing is, I like to keep a small bowl of green grapes by my computer. Every once in a while, I will pick one up and snack on it. The sweet sour and tanginess of the grapes refreshes my taste buds.

I wish you all the best.
We are all in this big boat together. :)

The drinking water bit really helps restore the taste. I found that vaping really dries out the throat and mouth quickly so keep that glass/bottle of water at arms reach :)

@morri
Grapes! Now that's a good idea. I'm putting that in my grocery list next time I'm out. Thanks for the tip!

I'm out. how to get more. LOL

Number one issue I saw, a red flag, same juice, same bottle. Mix it up, it's like with cigarettes, over time you get used to the nasty taste and don't realize it anymore, or a smell, ever notice you walk into a shoe store and smell leather then when you leave you don't notice it even if you try? The issues is you're getting used to it, try something new with a lower PG content, and a whole different type of flavor.

Cheers!

Same juice, same bottle, means to me that you've been vaping the same flavor for quite a while without rotating? That and a lack of enough water may be your problem. Try switching flavors, your tastebuds may have just gotten used to the taste just like your nose starts to ignore yucky smells if you smell it for an extended period of time. I am using 5 tanks, all loaded with different flavor liquids, and rotate them throughout the day. And lots of WATER! This phase will pass - been there, what may also help is vaping unflavored nic liquid for a day, it sort of resets your taste........ Good luck! :)
