I first mixed 10mls at 10% and even though it smelled wonderful in the bottle all I got was a burnt taste when vaped. :(

I have cut the mix with 5 mls PG AND 5mls VG and although not as bad it still tastes burnt. I find it hard to believe that a now 5% mix is too high. Could it be? Does anyone have any experience with Capella PB? Any suggestions?

I feel like w/ some flavorings, even tho they may smell good, just don't vaporize well. We're using food flavorings in a very unconventional way when you think about it lol. I tried a lot of flavors at the B&M, and some I thought were BAD, cookie dough for example. That's a flavor I'd assume I'd have liked, but definitely not vaped. I french-inhale sometimes and get a more intense taste of the flavor, and I'd describe that 1 as also having a gross burnt scent.

The Capella PB tasted burnt to me also. It didn't smell like that in the bottle so when I mixed some I actually threw out two good cartomizers thinking that they were bad because they had such a burned taste to them before I realized it was the peanut butter flavoring. Its more like a roasted peanut butter flavor. Try the PB from TPA it tastes like the creamy kind that 'Jif' makes, you have to use a higher percentage but its awesome :)

This is the post I was going by...

Well, I've found the BEST Peanut Butter to be from Capella's.

(But I also love the Peanut Butter Banana from DIYJuice - just discovered this one!)

And I am a "Peanut Butter" expert!

Wow, even after diluting with 10 mls of PG and 10 mls of VG it is still burnt. I can not believe this! I now have a 30 ml bottle of burnt peanut butter.

Not sure if there's amyway to save it. At first I was thinking of maybe adding some marshmallow and maybe a little chocolate. But if it's that bad, maybe throw it in a cabinet and see if it's any better in a week or 2. Don't feel too bad I have some TFA spearmint flavor that by just opening the bottle cleared my house, including my collie  I also have some TFA Caramel Cappuccino that smells so strong I'm afraid to even try it

Cheers,
Steve

Edit If you want to try adding anything else to it - break off 5ml so you don't waste a lot of flavor. You can always scale it up to the rest of the mix if you find something good

LOL Steve!

I think my stubborn side has hit. I hate to be defeated! I decided to get a small 3 ml bottle and almost filled it with PG. I am going to see if just a little of this mix will taste any better if severly diluted. We shall see. I KNOW this will not get better when steeped. The good thing is I only added PG/VG and didn't waste anymore nic.

No way would I add any other flavor to this mess!

I know we've spoken about this flavor via PM and it looks like you got the same recommendations in this thread that we spoke of earlier. So it looks like it's just one of those deceiving flavors that everyone runs across and at this point your likely just beating a dead horse. So put it on a top shelf and go on to something else and welcome to the flavor fustration club. I have about 20 of those flavors that are sitting on my top shelf. Maybe you can find a use for it in the future for those not so nice occasions like when the in law's visit:)

taste is subjective ... maybe that other person likes their PB to taste like blah ... similar to natural ground peanuts PB vs Jif or Kraft

I do realize taste is subjective but there is no taste other than burnt. If it was anything else I could see it but I can't see this at all. I am still playing with small samples so who knows. I started with 10% in 10 mls and diluted with 20 mls total (PG/VG). Now taking drops of that to see if there is something besides burnt. I really want to believe there is so I am trying...

Maybe I got a bad batch of flavoring.... anything is possible.

Yea Danny, I knew it would happen sooner or later.

It just surprised me with this one after the posts I read. I will never claim to be an expert (at anything) but whoever that expert is that posted that is delusional! Maybe they only went by smelll and never actually vaped it? It does smell excellent! :nah:

I imagine I am the "delusional" person you are speaking of. I called myself a "peanut butter expert" jokingly, as I've probably vaped nearly every PB juice there is - and PB is my absolutely favorite flavor. I DO consider Capella's to be the "best" PB flavoring (IMO). Of course everyone has different opinions and tastes ... thankfully (or we'd all be vaping the exact same thing!)

That being said, I always mix my PB with other flavorings. I never said anything about vaping it as a "stand alone" flavor. For me, straight PB does not vape well at all. Again, I always mix PB with something ... and actually put PB in almost all of the juices I make.

FYI ... PB mixes well with Caramel, Bavarian Cream, Marshmallow, Butterscotch, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Vanilla Custard, Banana Nut Bread, etc., etc.

Here's a couple recipes that may help you:

PB Hopscotch
12% Butterscotch, 7% Caramel, 5% Peanut Butter, and 3% TPA Marshmallow (add 1 drop Stevia, or sweeten to taste)

PB and White Chocolate
9% Peanut Butter, 4% White Chocolate, 4% Vanilla Cupcake, 2% TPA Marshmallow, 1% Bavarian Cream (sweeten to taste)

You can (and should) modify these to your own personal preference and taste. Let them steep for awhile, then add to - or modify them however you desire.

Hope that helps and clarifies my earlier posting you read. Good luck ... and don't give up on Capella's PB yet! Hopefully, you'll find a blend you love.

Your "delusional" Peanut Butter "expert". :)

P.S. Remember ... the "best" PB juices out there (The Vapor Room's PB Cookie for example) definitely use Capella's Peanut Butter ... but again, it's not made as a "stand alone" flavor.

I first tried it without a VV device, then tried with VV on 3.3. The coil is new, tried 2 of them. :(

Maybe it is the peanut butter flavoring....
I made a fluffer nutter vape with LA Peanut Butter and Toasted marshmallow from ........someone.

Anyhoo........I tried it fresh and it tasted horrible. Left it alone for two months, tried it again and it was heavenly.
