This is a really good flavor, but a little on the weak side for me. I tend to enjoy strong flavors, so I'm used to mixing at ~25%. I mixed this as high as 40% and while the flavor was accurate (Wrigley's Spearmint gum), I didn't get the "fill your mouth with flavor" that I was looking for.

Unless I can find a way to bring out more flavor through another ingredient, using 50%+ flavor isn't a cost effective option for me.

Not sure which flav vendor FSUSA uses in their pre-mix spearmint, but it'll blow your socks off!

Thanks. I used to get Bombay's spearmint back when I was still ordering pre-made juice and it was good. I know they use Flavor West for just about everything so I'm going to hit them up next.

I did try the TPA spearmint, and that will certainly knock your socks off. I mistakenly mixed that at my usual 25% to start and it took a week for everything to stop tasting like spearmint. LOL. I had to throw away my drip tip. After stepping down to it's proper mix at around 4%, I just didn't really like the flavor of it. That could be remnants of the horrible 25% fiasco, though ;)

Is that with steeping?

Havent tried it after steeping yet, but I have a bottle sitting there. I didn't think mints usually required steeping, though.

Ya...I'd be interested to see your reaction if mixed at 15% or so then left to sit overnight before testing.
Capella flavors usually do best around 10-20% in my experience, and anything more than that will result in a loss of flavor rather than the skunk effect you get from most flavoring. Letting it sit overnight (not steeping exactly, simply allowing the small amount of flavor to permeate the large amount of base liquid) will increase the flavor...at least that's been my experience. I've not tried spearmint, but I do have more than 20 capella flavors so I'm not just guessing.

You paid for the bottle right, why not try it? :2c:

50% is well overflavoring it . You wont taste any flavor at that percent . I have this one and if you go higher than 15% the flavor diminishes . 50% is superrrrr high .All capellas range from 10-20% . They work hard to make them all as even in percentage as possible .I have almost every capella flavor there is and havent has one that was out of the `10-20 range .If your getting a aftertaste on your tongue u used too much .

Yeah, I'll mix up another bottle at 15% and let it sit overnight.

Without allowing time for steeping, I tried mixing at 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, then 40%. Every time, the flavor seemed to get a little stronger, but not much. It wasnt until 20% that I could even tell it was spearmint. I had to doublecheck to make sure I didnt get a water flavor because I thought it was weird that it was so weak.

Thanks for the advice though.

I haven't had a chance to mix another bottle and let it steep yet, but wanted to ask you something anyway Str8. Do you think adding Tart and Sour/Malic Acid/Vinegar would help bring out the flavor strength I want without changing the flavor? If so, how much do you think I should use for a 5ml test batch?

IMO i find that tart and sour enhances everything . Im not able to taste the tart and sour itself even if using it in 2ml batches . Its completely oder and tasteless but does really enhance stuff . Im sure 2 or 3 drops will bring out more flavor . Maybe even more drops will work . Less = sweet more= sour/tart

If you dont have tart and sour a couple drops of lemon juice will work too .
