I have been trying to figure out why I am not getting much in the way of a custard flavor from this. Mixed at 5% and 10% and all I get is a kind of semi burnt, smokey, very vague custard like flavor. Not even in the same ballpark as the glorious smell of the bottled liquid. No sweetness or identifiable notes. Mixed 70vg/30pg with 4mg of fresh nic. Tried fresh and after a 2 week steep. Tried in a dripper and a Griffin with same results. Any advice?

I can't speak directly to Capella's v2 van custard because I have never tried it. I think from seeing some of the recipes its used in that its meant as a helper flavor more than a stand a alone type. Maybe add some marsh mellow or sweet cream or van swirl to see if that helps. Also, I have noticed that when used as a helper flavor the pct is usually around 2-3 %, so maybe cutting it down will also help.

Just made my first batch diy with cap VC v2 (2 weeks steeping .. shaken at least once a day).

10% cc v2
60vg/40pg
3mg/ml nic

Was trying to copy my regular store bought vc liquid and to me it was better.

I'm using it on kanger toptank and minisub with cotton wicking also with kraken tank.

1.5ohms .. cotton wicking.. 9-10watts.

YMMV.

I am confident the "Max used:100% was someone's typo. Of the 50(ish) people that left notes; it seemed the majority were mixing single flavor between 9-15% though there were several in the 4-6% range too.

Descriptions seemed to be mostly of two camps: A) not much "flavor" but nice "mixer" for adding thickness and/or egginess to recipes, or B)Awesome very vanilla-y custard.

The two people that mentioned steeping suggested between 2 and 4 weeks.

I have a bottle but I have yet to try it so I can't offer a personal opinion.

I guess I am just disappointed that it does not vape like it smells. The smell almost makes me want to drink it straight out of the bottle! LX1X, did you mean the Capellas was better? I think I'll try mixing up a couple more batches. Maybe at 3, 10 and 15% and hide them for a month and see what develops.

I vape a lot of custards... I use CAP VC V1 @ 10% plus 1% Sweetener (Sucralose) stand alone. I make 200ml, (4x50), at a time & age for 4 weeks. V2 is just not as good all by it's lonesome, IMO. Although in multiple ingredient recipes using 5% or less, I don't notice a significant difference. YMMV...

I've found the V2 tastes better the first day or 2 after mixing.
It's still okay after steeping, but for me it loses it's custard notes.
Found 3-6% works best imo. YMMV.

Did you get it straight from Capellas or from a middleman?
I ask because I ordered some V2 once and got the V1 instead.
The initial flavour was a dead giveaway, they each have their own distinct taste, it was easy to tell the difference. Cheers.

All i have been vaping for 7 months is CAP Vanilla custard V2 mixed with equal parts CAP French vanilla V2.I find it needs at least a month of steeping to start giving the great flavor.Just opened a bottle after 2 months steeping and the flavor is incredible.

Seems to be genuine V2. Bottle had a plastic seal on the cap and was purchased at a Kidney Puncher store. Hate to repeat myself but if it vaped half as nice as it smells, I would be in vape nirvana!
What's the color of the liquid now?

Below is what mine looks..

Other possibilities..
-vapers tongue.
-Too high of wattage (burnt taste)
-replace the wick
