Why when I get a new order form Cap you guys rave about another flavor I dont have. Sheesh!!!!

lol . I think that happens to all of us . Theres just so many good ones i wanna buy them all.

Thanks for posting them buddy. I can tell you didn't just throw some flavors together and post it.

Has anyone used the maple flavor? I have it on the way and was wondering how it was? I was gonna make some waffles with butter and syrup and figured Capella would have a good maple for this.

Before i post a recipe i work with testing a few flavors that i think will go good together and mix up a bunch of bottles with different percentages of each . WHile doing that some flavors get scratch while others get added and when i finally have something good i vape it for a few days while making slight changes . After i feel its exactly where i want it for after a couple weeks ill post the recipe .

I have used maple and i like it but i havent used it enough to give a good opinion on it by itself . It will go good with waffles, butter and french toast and im sure theres lots of other things that it would work in a strange combination with . Out of the 3 maples iv tried capellas was the only good one spot on one .

Patti, you used 1mL total flavoring in a 30mL mix? If so, that's your problem, not enough flavoring. That's only about 3% and I usually use nearly 15-20% TOTAL flavoring in many of my mixes.

LOL I think I misread your post. You're using 1mL in a 10mL bottle?? That's still only 10% flavor and I think it needs to be more like 15-20% as a standalone.

Yep...you misread.
I have 30 ml mixed up in the 'no flavor' bottle which I bumped up to 15%....the highest I've ever taken any Capella flavor. It started at 5%, bumped to 10%, then 15%....nothing. This was done over a course of a couple of weeks.

My new try is 1 ml in 10...which is my 'normal' for Capella flavoring.

I have 35 Cap flavors and have not found a single one that I personally need to go over 10% on for a standalone, and there are quite a few that 5% (again, as a standalone) is fine :)
I also personally find the majority of Capella flavors perfect as standalones...and the ones that aren't are great with just a little something added. One of the reasons I'm so happy with them is I don't feel the need to do a big witches brew on them...that's your forte? no prob, go for it...it's not my 'thang' :) If the label says vanilla cupcake (an example) it should taste like vanilla cupcake w/o having to add eye of newt and lizards tongue and half a dozen fire ants, but that's just me...and overall, as a brand, that's exactly what you get.

Now having said that....I thought for awhile maybe it was one of those that needed to steep. I learned the hard way to let anything I mix sit overnight. For me with any flavor anything less tastes like a lot of liquid with a little flavor mixed in. Sitting overnight allows the flavor to meld and get all happy and do what it does ( not a chemist, can you tell?). Some like Cap cheesecake need longer though (IMO) so I gave it a week in between bumping up the flavor by 5%. After hitting 15%, adding EM, and vinegar I figured maybe it was one of those 'delicate' flavors that my newly emancipated taste buds couldn't quite recognize yet (when I first tasted oba oba and catalan cream I could barely taste them...now they're heaven!) so I waited..and waited...meanwhile you keep posting how flavorful it is and I thought I'd ask (knowing that your 'normal' is 20%) what kind of percentage you were using. :)

Sorry this is so long.

I haven't felt the need. I bought the waffle and to me it's mapley and rich enough all by itself. In fact, to me it's so tasty I didn't feel the need to get the french toast either. :)

Jumping on the capella's bandwagon, even though I haven't even tried all of my TPAs yet. I hope they will arrive today. They left Mobile last night at 9 so I would think so. I am awaiting:

bubble gum
vanilla cupcake
coconut
sweet strawberry
spearmint

The sad thing is I already have spearmint and strawberry, but I want to compare. I also had TPA bubble gum but used it all in one batch. It was OK, but I am hoping this one will be better.

Ooo, I'll try it by itself then. :) French Toast is my favorite breakfast food, but I haven't found a good one before. So I figure Capella can do it right.

You have three of my all time favs there , Coconut , sweet strawberry and vanilla cupcake . All three are perfect and spot on in everyway . The coconut is good in almost everything . IMO the sweet strawberry is the most real ripe tasting strawberry there is and vanilla cupcake is my favorite flavoring out of all 120 flavorings i have . Its perfect like a vanilla cupcake right out of the oven with some icing. I use it in pretty much every bakery juice i make for the nice cakey sweet richness . The other two i havent tried but since its capella im sure they will be good . Spearmint i think is natural .

Everyones taste buds are different which i understand but just wanted to post this information to help people out and give a general average on percentages . You may be more or less sensitive but Capellas formulates their flavorings to be all equal in concentration . This is one thing i havent seen from other flavoring companies . They have a testers which give feedback to formulate a average concentration . Of course this may vary to some but there recommendation is a good place to start in which you can adjust up or down from you liking . Usually down if anything . Capellas recommendation is 15-20% shown below . I have personally found it to be spot on accurate with my testing before iv even read Capellas recommendation so it was a completely unbiased finding .I do my testing with 20 drops of pg then add 1 drop of flavors which equates to 5% increments while vaping after each added drop. IMO this is very important to do before using a new flavor. You not only find the sweet spot but also find how flavors work for future mixing in recipes. YMMV still

Capella Flavor Drops for e-Liquid (DIY) use

e-Liquid ( DIY e-Juice) Standard Mixing Technique
Here is a general apprach to use for those starting our with mixing their own e-liquid (e-juice). When using Capella Flavor Drops a good starting point is 15-20% dillution in either PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerin), or a mix of both.
An easy example would be if you created a 10ml e-liquid batch as a test, use 8ml of either PG (Propylene Glycol) or VG (Vegetable Glycerin) and add 2ml of your favorite Capella Flavor Drops flavor. This will give you a 80/20 pct mix. For a larger mix, just multiply out.

Just another little note on the link above it is clearly stated that :

Our Flavors are Food Grade Flavorings , and are DIACETYL FREE.
NOT PERFUME Chemicals or Perfume ingredients.

This is good to know that Capellas doesnt use Perfuming flavorings which is no surprise since i personally have never tasted or smelled a hint of it in any one of there flavorings .

I've noticed that most of Capella's flavors go well with each other. Tom once told me not to mix flavors from different companies but I forget why now. Anyone know why that would make a difference? It was something about the flavor molecules being different?? I guess I could email him.

Hopefully we can all take what we want and leave the rest here. I wouldn't want anyone to feel afraid of posting anything with fear of being ridiculed or bashed here or on any other part of the forum. We all have our personalities and some may like us and some may not but we can all learn from each other if we can overlook the things that irritate us. I learned a long time ago not to try to "fix" anyone. LOL

OK you got me. Just ordered both strawberries, peaches and cream, raspberry, apricot, vanilla cupcake, french vanilla, marshmallow, and a couple of water flavorings. This will be my first DIY efforts, although I've been mixing/diluting premade juices for a while to try and make them vapeable. Is that a word? Anyway, I have everything else I need. Wish me luck!

I've had (if I remember correctly) Juicy Vapor, Prime Vaping, FSUSA...I think that's all. I wanted to try Ms. T's but never got to it. Should be here tomorrow or Monday. :)

Yea iv tried them all too . Msts is one that is worth trying though . The quality is unmatched . Since i started DIY i stopped buying juice from all the vendors except i can never give up msts ever .I dont wanna sound like the authority but i really whole heartedly feel that highly about her juices .If you ever have a chance try her Sugar cookies .I go through 30ml bottles in 4 days and had to lower my nic because i cant put it down. I guarantee you will be hooked on it . If not i promise i will buy it from you and order a bottle of your favorite ejuice so its a win win for you :) I dont know how she gets her juices that damn good and flavorfull . She the only juice vendor iv found that it tastes like she mashed up real bakery sweets and bottled them . Let me stop lol .

All my opinion of course but i feel bakery juice fans need to try it .

I'm on page 66 of this thread reading and soaking up all the info I can. I have about 12 Capella flavors so far and have tried some mixes all of which are pretty good in the end but I've had to tweak up the flavor in many of them by adding drops of this and that. My question is when you finally arrive at a recipe that you really like and want to do again how do you incorporate all the little tweaks. If I mix it the same way with say just making a stronger flavor ( from 10% to 12%) how do you incorporate the tweaks into the new mix? Does that make sense?
