Well there you go, sorry don't know a whole lot about posting links. You fanboys are amazing, garbage spews out of a few around here and I get called out for posting a bit of truth. No where have you seen me post a negitive comment regarding any flavor manufacture. I wasn't posting a negetive Cap. comment here just trying to get the right info out there. Have a great day.


Az bro I so much apoligize cause I misquoted the wrong person. I meant to have Salemgold post be quoted and it must of posted yours by accident. In no way shape or form was it directed to you and its was a mistake. I re edited my post to show that and removed your quote. I am really truly sorry.

I went back to try and find Salemgold post but she deleted her comment. I think what i wanted to do was show her comment through your post since hers was no longer available.

With that this wasnt direct at Salem Gold either. I just wanted to show what started this to be looked into further.

Now I will say this. We are all adults with half of brains around here ( well some of us ). Capellas creates the flavors and is a lab governed by many rules and regulations. They have to pass more inspections than most restaurants in which in itself is very scary. They are a fully licensed business recognized and regulated. With that when I see a post with something that says it may be harmful or kill me I take interest quick. Tom sent me this copy of the lab results in minutes of my email of concern. So far I show no same document opposing this one.

This post was NOT directed by anyone at all all it was is a genuine concern for my health and the health of others that motivated me to do this.

Yeah, Hoosier and what was weird about the whole thing is that it was during the same time that FA was being revealed to have had diacetyl in their flavorings. Capella had on their website that none of theirs contained it. It left a bad taste in my mouth at the time and obviously still does. LOL It must have come up again to Capella and that's why the more recent test. They had all the appropriate documentations back then too. Another thing that REALLY bothered me was that Linda was in the process of trying to duplicate Capella flavorings at the request of a vendor. This was discussed openly in TV's forum and no one but me seemed to think anything was wrong with that. I bet if the tables were turned there would be a lot of people saying that wasn't the right thing to do to Linda. She's a good PR person and many like her but for me that doesn't excuse some of her business practices.

I would start with Vanilla Cupcake. I know this is a Capella thread but Bickford's has a wonderful Butternut and that may go well with the Vanilla Cupcake.

Ok...this is one of the flavors I was most excited about, and very disappointed in...I taste nothing. Zilch. No flavor. I get a bit of sweet...and some body, but no flavor. Am I weird or what? Most CA flavs I'm happy at 5% on...a few I go up to 10%...this one I've taken up to 15% and it's been 'steeping' for well over a month...nothing :(

Any advice?? I have some van butternut (FF) that is yummy I'd love to try with it,but not if I have to use all v. butternut ;)

LOL It's a strong smell and smells exactly like cupcakes. Maybe you got an off bottle. You can always contact Capella with your batch number and they'll research it. They keep samples from each batch so they can test it to make sure it's the correct recipe of ingredients if there are ever complaints or problems.

Ok now that is weird! I just went in and smelled the bottle of flavoring...it's heavenly! So I unscrewed the bottle of mix and smelled it...nothing!! I'm not a note keeper, I write everything on the bottle labels, unless I'm experimenting with a mix...if so, I use post-it notes, which get wrapped around the bottle with a rubber band. The only thing I've added to that mix in desperation to get something is EM. Oh....and vinegar.

I don't know what happened, but I'm starting over. I mixed up 10 ml of pg only (the flavorless bottle has about 30 ml with nic...I always use nic with Capellas cause I never have to dump it :( ) and 1 ml flavor...I'm going to do an overnight steep (my usual) and I'll report back.

Cue twilight zone music lol!

Patti, you used 1mL total flavoring in a 30mL mix? If so, that's your problem, not enough flavoring. That's only about 3% and I usually use nearly 15-20% TOTAL flavoring in many of my mixes.

LOL I think I misread your post. :laugh: You're using 1mL in a 10mL bottle?? That's still only 10% flavor and I think it needs to be more like 15-20% as a standalone.

It does smell exactly like a fresh baked vanilla cupcake and tastes like it too . Out of my 100+ flavorings cap vanilla cupcake is my all time fav and most used flavoring . I think i put it in almost everything . I havent tried it as a standalone though but with cupcake mixed with marshmallow or caramel or butter its amazing . I usually use it with a lot of other flavors too

It is a stronger tating flavor than vanilla custard and if it were a standalone id do 10-15% with a little EM since i usually find standalones to need a little something no matter what the flavor . In my 20 drop testing though when i got it even 5% had good flavor .

Patti your issue may be the vinegar . Vinegar usually doesnt work that well in bakery flavors . I find vinegar to be good for tobaccos and Lemon juice/tart and sour to enhance bakery flavors . Vinegar would imo add bitterness and remove sweetness . I also usually make my bakery flavors with a bit higher VG then PG . I learned this trick from vendors and have always found it to be a big key in sweetness .

Vendors like mst and KBV who make great bakery flavors usually have a 70vg or 60vg to pg ratio

Guys, let's all get along. :)

Anyone mix up some delicious juice with Capella's lately? I've been vaping on a Reese's Candy Bar and Snickerdoodle/Monkey Bread kind of juice...both based off Str8's recipes. Good stuff. Mmm.

been puffing on Str8 "Sweet emotion" for the last week it's really yummy!

Thanks for posting them buddy. I can tell you didn't just throw some flavors together and post it.

Has anyone used the maple flavor? I have it on the way and was wondering how it was? I was gonna make some waffles with butter and syrup and figured Capella would have a good maple for this.
