Tried posting this in the ask the veterans part of this forum but it apparently wasnt worthy so I'll try here...

With the Vela tube and Paps top and bottom cap marriage... do I need to file down the adjusting pin on the Paps v2.5 top cap to get it to fit properly? Or do you know of an alternate method? I picked up a '650 Vela tube and reaaally dont want to have to mess with the Paps adjusting pins. I guess I can always order another set of pins so I can continue to use my Paps as well.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you classwife!

I get both points, telescoping and 20/1 threading, Ken...which is why I'm so perplexed. I've tried adjusting and removing the pin used to make contact/avoid battery rattle and nada. With both pins fully adjusted to my Patriot atty and/or kayfun Lite, when attempting to screw it to the Vela, it won't even grab one thread. It literally sits on top of the 650 battery in the tube.

If I remove the telescoping pin and leave the adjusting pin, I can get maybe 2-3 full turns into the threading before it stops cause it's already making contact with the battery, which leaves roughly an 1/8" gap between the tube and the bottom of the Paps top cap.

Not sure what else to try.
