Hey Guys I just got a new piece. My dog chewed up the mouth piece to my good clearomizer and disposable are ..... I didn't have this problem with a new wick last time.

But I decided to give my local smoke shop a try before making the decision to do all my shopping online.

They didn't have rebuildable clearomizers. But they did have a knock off mini nova thing that I seemed to like the durability of.

I am using a mixture of a thicker liquid and a thinner. I have been using it and my love for the flavor allowed me to not smoke for like a whole week (a few days I smoked one before work.)

Just filled up my new peice and I think it's a slightly larger wick then I am used to. Is it normal to have to let the fluid soak? Because so far I'm getting a burnt cardboard flavor taste. It APPEARS to be getting better (30 minutes later) but that could be in my head and I still taste it.

My fear is that with my limited income, if I don't find a way to match my initial happiness with my first clearomizer, that I will either a) waste a lot of money that I don't really have. B) go back to smoking out of frustration and it being convenient.

Any tips or experiences, please share!

(Oh and my last thread was a lot of help. Through your guidance and a lot of research I was able to find out what kinds of pieces I did have. What I could have, and what I appeared to like at the moment:)

If it's wicking properly, 30 minutes should have been more than enough time to soak it up...

Not knowing what you have, it's hard to be specific. That said....

Sometimes on the Vivis there is a wicking problem. Seems that on some, the little silicon rubber "cap" that's over the wicks fits down too far, and chokes off the flow somewhat, leading the the dry hits you're experience. Slower draws may alleviate that. Some have cut - more like nipped - little V notches in that cap just above where the wicks are to eliminate the flow restriction. Emphasis on LITTLE, as too big and it will tend to wick too much juice and lead to flooding.

Why not just check around online and see if you can find what your dog ate? Check the Forum Suppliers link at the top of the page. A few dollars spent on that has to be cheaper than a carton of cigarettes...

Good luck!

Because of your lack of money and lack of experience, I would strongly suggest you go to your local vape shop and fill up and test whatever clearo you buy while you're still right there in the store. That way they can help make sure you're doing it right. Also, if there is anything wrong with it, they can see the problem and replace it or fix it for you before you even leave the store.

That's the biggest benefit of having a local store. It's perfect for newbies to get some hands-on help to get started.

In your last thread, you got lots of suggestions for finding local shops. They may not all be the best. You might want to look them up online or call them to find out which one has what you need and which one seems most helpful before you go. But, a good in-person experience can make all the difference.

I've only been to one of the local shops here. But, when I first walked in, they were sitting down with a newby and helping them learn how to use their new set-up, showing them how and letting them practice and test it for themselves.

Anything that has the coil near the top and the wick hangs down into the tank generally smoke the best if you hold you setup horizontal with the ground when you smoke it. It will keep the wicks wet and in turn your coil wet. If you smoke it vertically or even at say a 45 deg angle your wick might get too dry leading to a burned taste and dry hits.

You might be smoking it horizontal and if that is the case then as others have stated it is probably that little rubbery cap right above the wicks cutting off the juice and giving dry hits. You can just remove it and cut little V shaped slots in it where it hits the wicks.

I have found that I just prefer the clearomizer. but seeing as how my dog has now eaten up my back up, I must use the piece discussed here. I DID NOT know about the little slits. THATS a huge help as the dry hits seem to be my only problem now. but after this I think I know what I like and have narrowed down to a few potential sites and will probably just be ordering from there from now on. thank you guys.
