Been noticing these new batteries popping up and after lots of time poking around here, cpf, and flashlight information. I am noticing a disturbing trend of the rewrap stated specs being used out of context.

Example, a certain battery is claiming 35 amp continuous discharge. But the actual maker before rewrap is stating, no its 20amp with a 35 pulse rating.

Im not telling people not to buy or use what they want. But to use some common sense.

In another thread there is an argument based on " well the owner of the company said "we made them thats what they are"

Think about this for a second.

Companies like lg, samsung, sony and panasonic spend years and millions of dollars on R&D for battery technology, top dog scientists arent cheap.

Then there is the costs of all the actual machinery - the machines that make the casings, assemble the rods or positive posts blend the chemicals correctly and even assemble the battery itself.and add in a labeler while you are at it. This is not including the costs for 100's if not 1000's of lbs of raw chemicals

And all of this has to be done in a precision ISO controlled environment as well as dehumidified etc

So with all this in mind-

a company suddenly rises out of nowhere and claims they have an even better more powerful chemistry then companies doing this for ages?
yet the only industry to take notice of this is vaping? That tells me all I need to know.

Sorry, I love vaping but if I could actually produce something better then sony I would be trying to get contracts at Tesla not the local vape shops. There is roughly 2000 batteries in a tesla joes vape shop may sell half that of my brand in a year if I am lucky.

There is a reason Tesla uses panasonic batteries and cordless powertools ALL use samsung.

Dont be fooled by sudden claims of superiority and undocumented power outputs by companies coming out of nowhere And charging you more For their shiney new labels. Yet not able to show chemistry labels and discharge charts

(Discharge documentation can be found on ALL major brands websites)

Ive heard that they take the batteries and subject them to magnetic fields to increase the amps.... but then I hear alot of really bizzare stuff on the internet....

as an automotive electrician i have had to learn a LOT about batteries in recent years, and that just doesn't make any sense.

Again kids im not saying dont use them. Or they arent any good .

Just be careful for your old uncle thrash. Mmmmmk?

This also leads into a good question - could a mis-specced battery been at the root of the mod explosion the other day ?

Just something to ponder.......
What mod explosion? Gotta link?
