Cart Filler?

Ok I went a bit lean with my order I am getting, and did not get any additional empty carts. I ordered the 510 starter kit, and a bottle of liquid, I plan to order more next week.

Anyways, I assume I am going to have to change the filling often, and was wondering what I should use. I had heard that just poly-fill from walmart is ok. Is there anything better that should be used? If so, where can it be purchased?

I use pyramid tea bags with my 901 carts, and they work like a charm. Plus the tea is nice lol

Fluval seems 2 b the #1 choice, it can be found at your local pet outlet..

The greenbag Premium Polyester Fiberfil is all you'll ever need. It's OEM, and works perfectly. Much better to pay $3 for a lifetime's worth, than buying tea or the same thing in little boxes at a much higher cost (Fluval brand).

Not sure what you mean by 'often' but they will last at least a month if you clean them once a week. Soak in 151, dry thoroughly. As for what you should use.... listen to KreeL.. imo. I have tried the pyramid and it works ok but I'll be getting polyfil when I run out of the round carts I have to replace the filler in my flat tips.

Found the polyester batting in sheet form at a local fabric store. 6inches by 48inches for 37cents. Just cut a strip the same width as the cartridge opening. Then cut into lengthes the same as the cartridge depth. Then stuff the cartridge. Quick and easy. Works great.
