I'm having some problems filling carts. I used to use only VG, but lately I've been mixing it up with some more PG based juices. Every time I fill a cart up with 20 or so drop, let it sit a min, it floods the atty, I have to blow it out, and lose several drops of juice, and my cartos are lasting about half as long. Ive been using the spin method as I dont have a syringe, but I cant fuigure out what I'm doing wrong.

Are these old cartos or new blanks? You probably aren't doing anything wrong the cartos are just burnt. Instead of blowing out the cartos, turn them upside down, apply a little pressure to the side of your bottle, stick the dropper into air tube...then release the grip on your bottle. The vacuum generated will suck that juice right back into the bottle.

If you have this going on with a couple of carts, reverse spin the worst one, then take a pair of tweezers and yank the polyfill out. If you don't see an obvious burn hole unravel the polyfill, check the wicking material and the wick tube...trust me...you'll find one.

As long as the wicking tube isn't compromised....there really is no way for juice to flood the air tube from the polyfill. It can only happen when a hole has developed.

As for carto lifespans, they can only take so much and after awhile the a section of the atomizer will simply stop functioning. This is why you'll hear most juicers say they use (non-burnt) cartos until the vapor production starts to drop off.

Even if they only been used 1 time before....that's all it takes. The only time you can be sure that a carto is 100% is when it comes out of the box. You've seen my vids, you've watched me dump 25 drops in or syinge in 25 drops, so if you are only putting in 20 and they're leaking....it's a sign.

Just curious these leaking cartos, are they Wow's, Cool Cartos, or a mix of both? The only reason I ask is because it's been my experience that Wow cartos are generally not great candidates for cleaning are refilling. When I used to boil our cartos (don't do it anymore) the bulk of them that died would be Wow Cartos.

They are WOW. I wish I would have gotten 10 coolcarts instead of 10 WOWs now. :(

I'm not surprised. Like I mentioned before, yank the polyfill out of the worst one and check the wicking material and wick tube...if there's a hole, your filling technique is fine.

It's easy to burn up Cartos especially when you first start. After a couple of months you'll notice when a carto is starting to dry up. I hope you and I can revisit this subject 6 months from now to discuss it a little further. Using Cool Cartos , timely topping off of your carts, perfecting a nice smooth draw and remembering little things like topping off an "in-play" carto before it goes on a Mod or a Passthrough all help to avoid burning.
