Evening all-

I have been happily vaping along for about 3 weeks now. Still on the same atomizer, same two batteries and a slew of juices. I have a couple of cartridge questions

1) I have read that the carts should be tossed out after 5-10 refills. Is there any truth to this? I have started wondering about what is collecting / growing in the cart portion at the tip (not the e-liq reservoir)

2) What is the fluid that is on the outer edge of the cart (not the very outside but the part that is in contact with the atomizer wall)? Does the vapor travel out to the grooves of the cart to the mouthpiece tip?

3) Are all cart caps the same? It seem the cap on the pre-filled carts that came with my kit are lose. There is a little rubber cap inside of the plastic cap. I would like to fill several carts but don't trust they won't leak if in my case.

4) Best place to buy carts (empty with caps)? I would like to buy 10 or so...for DSE-901.

Thanks-

Bman.

Dont throw the carts out. You can re-stuff them using Fluval (aquarium filter material)

every week I wash mine out with boiling water as well as the quote. Fluval works fine. Tend to find if you wash the standard wadding, it is fine for a few times.

Boiling water works fine. It is plastic after all..

I can sell you 50 for $500 if you like. :)

Will you take a two party out of state check? It'll clear, I promise! If not, I'll get in touch with you when I receive the money that Nigerian prince is sending me. It should be here any day now.

Wash the carts and stuffing, let dry and refill. If the stuffing has totally lost it's shape or looks nasty (a subjective observation), re-stuff the cart with a rolled up tea bag or some poly fill. Lots of thread on this forum about these items.

2) What is the fluid that is on the outer edge of the cart (not the very outside but the part that is in contact with the atomizer wall)? Does the vapor travel out to the grooves of the cart to the mouthpiece tip?

The liquid on the outside of the cartridge is condensate from vapor that has cooled in the atomizer chamber. It is a good idea to wipe it off periodically so you do not begin sucking it in.

I only use pen-style/801 carts. The rubber cap generally stays wedged in the cart condom. I wash them and save them to reuse as needed. I would recommend that you store your filled carts in a plastic bag or other protective container. Smoking liquid can leech out of a filled cart.

I am certainly a new vapor man. I would say to decide to what is most cost effective and toss in your laziness factor. I live in New York where a pack of cigarettes cost $9.50 to $11.50 a pack.

Based on these prices I can save close to 70% with e-cigarettes WITHOUT recycling, and squeezing out juice and doing all those things to save money. I read some user state--not sure if here--that he did not care if any e-cig cost him three times the cost of regular cigarettes. He just loved the fact that his home did not have the stench of cigarettes.

That being said; I believe that the hobby aspect (cleaning, tweaking, etc) also serves to help since it lowers are nicotine intake.
