I have vaped Johnson Creek 100% VG since I got my first Reo months ago. As some of you may have seen, Ive been posting about how much trouble attys are giving me. Could the real reason for the trouble lie in the juice?

I see people getting months of use on ONE atty without even a cleaning, yet I get only about a week before Im chipping carbon off the coil.

Ive been using cartos a lot lately, but even they dont last more than a few days..

+1. I vape 100% VG 91% of the time (yeah - 91%... would be 99, but I went digging through my juice shelf recently and rediscoverd a bunch of BWB juices I like ;) )

From your descriptions of your problems I've been reading for a few weeks, I have to tell you, rc10mike, that I think you're vaping your attys too dry. You're not keeping them wet enough. When you said the other day that you're having to chip carbon off the coil of an hh.357 after 4 days of vaping, I ended up forming that opinion. I'm pretty sure that's it.

But... I can't say it with 100% certainty. In my juice collection, I do have one juice that will plug a filler carto (no matter the manufacturer) in under a day. That same juice seems to be tough on attys, too. I've had at least a few atty deaths while vaping it, and most of those I felt were premature. That juice is a 90% VG juice that isn't particularly dark colored. I don't know why it has been problematic to my equipment, but it has.

I wish I wouldve taken pictures of that coil with the carbon. The weird thing is, EVERY atty Ive tried is like a balancing act. There is an ultra-fine line between dry burnt vapes and flooded. BUT, this HH357 didnt seem to have that issue, it never burnt me nor flooded. It could be because I drilled the air holes out slightly. This good performance was short lived though, after those 4 days, I had to chip the carbon off. After that the great flavor came back, but vapor went downhill...

As much as I love this JC juice, I think I might give a different brand of VG a try, just to see. I cant do PG at all, even blends mess my mouth up!

Me too. I've developed a bit of a sensitivity to PG, so I use my PG juices sparingly. The hh.357 I have on my top feeder has only used AVE 555... and it has used well over half a liter. I gave it a vodka bath this morning. Though the coil is dark from 5+ months of use, I can see the wraps in the coil and it isn't covered in carbon. I've never dry burned it or done any chipping. Vodka baths and blow outs every ~30 or so ml has been all the maintenance I've done.

Started of with EC4 Clearomizers 80Pg/20vg.

The Boge Lo resistance Carto's are a real step back - no taste, all - sorry all that eomprehended them.

Dripping with a 406 Atty, is usefull, in that you will get a smilar vape from a clearomizer.

Also , I am on 100% VG Now, but sometimes add a couple of drips of PG if required. It's more likely that I will add more VG / Nic than PG to be honest.

My goodness...I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. I vape mainly 70/30 PG/VG...and with my cartos, attys (Cisco 306s) on my Reo, and even my ViVi Nova tank on my Buzzpro Im LUCKY to get 6 ml through them without the juice getting DARK (and this is with Backwoods Brew Blueberry or Halo Malibu) and burnt tasting. I bathe them in Vodka (100 proof) overnight, blow out, and reuse...but what a pain every 6ml. Cartos I just throw awaya...but with only 6 - 10ml thru them...thats expensive.

Im almost at wits end...

I'm pretty sure it comes down to tastes buds sometimes, and some being more picky than others.

Story:

I was at a vape meet over a year ago when I was vaping boba's bounty almost exclusively. I met another vaper there that also said he vaped boba's 90% of the time, we got talking and I asked how long he gets before cleaning an atty. He told me about 35-40 ml through a cisco atty but even then he didn't think the taste was off but just that they must need cleaning. I said wow I'm cleaning mine almost daily with only 4 or 5ml on them.

He handed me a mod with a cisco that he thought had 30ml or so of boba's through it. He dripped a few more drops of boba's in it and had me try it...... my god it was rank and didn't taste anything like boba's. He thought I was nuts so I gave him mine with a fresh atty that morining and tried. He claimed they tasted just the same ..... What ???? His tasted like dog but and mine tasted great.

I think people that are getting longer just might not be as fussy as I am.
Honestly for me the flavor changes in the first 30 minutes of an atty and steadily goes down hill fast from there.
The first 20 hits of a fresh clean atty are just the best.

Cartos are a little different for me .... the first 30 minutes are not that great. the next couple hours are the best and by the end of the day I wan't a new one again.

Thankfully re-buildable atomizers seemed to have solved all of that for me. I think the flavor tastes the same for up to 8 days approx, then it goes to crap fast. Luckily it only takes 5 minutes to make a new coil.

my experience has shown me that a to high of a voltage will kill a carto quickly you have to find the right setting is not to high

I don't run standard atomizers anymore but when I did I would get the atomizer hot remove it from my mod and blow out the hot juice into a napkin .This would bring the flavor back and remove any buildup up in the atomizer. I would do this every 2 or 3 days

ok..that's it... I'm ready to take a vote on how many Reonauts want Rob the master modshucker to make a thread devoted only to all the tricks and tips he has for running the mods smoothly and flawlessly....

I think he should build a "viewing station" at the shop. Like when you take brewery tours ..... or like the the polar bears at the zoo :D He could charge admission have comfy chairs and we could sit behind plexiglass and watch him work and vape :) It could put Alfred ME on the map baby ...... The mayor would probably name a street after him and give him the key to the city.

Theres freaking nothing there ..... I don't even think Rob has a shop ..... it all a rouse somehow.

120 ida jim is dead in the middle of a 40 acre forest !!

On MapQuest if you go up the road NW there is a place on the right side. A house and a couple other buildings. I think that is Robert's!

O.K. I admit I like to check out addy's on MapQuest and Google!
