Carto issue

Hi. I've become a real fan of cartos recently- have some Boge F17's and have found them to be terrific. But some new cartridges arrived for them today and Im having some problems. I ordered them from a different supplier and they are different to the other ones I've been using. They have more filling in them and do not have the plate at the bottom to stop them sliding through the tank. But that aside, when I went to fill/ prime one the juice just sat on top of the filling like it was already primed. I tried to vape it but it tasted awful so I tried to fill from the bottom (condom method) & now it's gurgling like crazy & still tastes awful.
Do some cartridges come preprimed?? What am I doing wrong??

What you are doing wrong is not waiting long enough for the juice to get fully saturated.

And those are "flanged" cartos.

Welcome.

Thx for ur replies.
"Flanged" are the ones with the plate on the bottom?
Can I save the carto or just toss it & start again with another one? I only put 2-3 drops on the filler and I waited a minute or 2 but it was just sitting there. The other ones I've used absorbed the juice much faster.

Are you saying that the carto already had liquid in it when you got it? A pre-filled carto or a blank? If it was a blank carto and came with something in it, I'd throw it away.. sounds like the other were normal blanks.

And yes if they come with a bottom plate they are called "flanged cartos".

I don't quite understand--Boge F17 is a carto tank, AFAIK. Are you talking about F17 carto tanks? I have an F15 and it came empty, no flange--had to be filled prior to vaping.

Are you just buying replacement empty f17 Boge cartos to use in your Boge F17 tank?

Could you post a link to what you bought?

Generally, Boge 510 cartos come empty and you have to fill them yourself. Boge cartos have a very tightly-woven filler and they need to be filled with care and patience--especially the first time. Once they are fully saturated they are great. I usually fill them with a syringe and an 18g needle to make sure they get fully saturated. If you use the condom method, you have to go very slowly as the liquid tends to go up the air tube in the center, completely bypassing the filler.

Gurgling means you have juice in the center tube--just blow it out into a tissue.

Ahhhh- all is good in my world again!!! Primed another & it's fine- think I was just in a rush & scared cos they weren't the same as the other ones!! The nonflanged one is actually ok cos I can swap cartos without losing a tank full of juice. Many thanks for the replies!!

Excellent! Just a little perserverance and courage go a long way. :)
It's not exactly a science just yet. more art, in a sense. And you'll be rewarded, when things are just so. :toast:
