Been using clearomizers and a Vivi Nova exclusively since I started vaping. I have a bunch of Boge SR 510 cartos (3 ohm) and didn't really want to use them until I had a device that could push more than 3.7 volts. Got a VV KGO the other day so I got them out.

Here's the issue. Using the condom method I filled one with some 60/40 18mg juice. Set my device at 4.7 volts and really liked the vape for like five or ten minutes at which point I got very strong burnt tasting hits.

So am I right to say that without a tank my cartos are only ever going to be awesome for a very short time? If that's the case I might as well drip. What did I do wrong?

Cartos really are better with a tank. WHen I fill mine for the first time, I use the condom method, AND add liquid to the top, also. I do get more hits from it than dripping, unless you are using an atty that will hold more drops. They do dry out and will burn and be useless if they get burned.....

If you have a carto punch and/or a dremel, you could always pick up some tanks and punch the cartos on the flavors you enjoy the most and put them into a tank.... There are some inexpensive tanks out there.... Vaporbeast.com has the boge f16's with free shipping and the tanks from valleyvapes.com are really good, also! The latter has a wide variety of sizes and types.....

And thus the hobby deepens......

Welcome to our world! lol! When I first started, I was happy with my ego-t tank that came with my starter kit.... That lasted for quite a while until I moved on to clearos... You could always stay with your vivi nova, that is a good tank, imo!

The carto tanks I mentioned are not expensive at all! I think the boge is only $6.95 with free shipping and comes with a punched carto and drip tip. The Valley View tanks are maybe a dollar or two more, but you can get different sizes and they will not crack with certain juices.... He also has more expensive tanks, larger ones and pyrex tanks! He runs a weekly contest where he gives one away! Check out the contest thread in the PIF (pay it forward) section! We would love to have you on board!
