Carto panic...please help

Hi everyone! On one hand, I'm ecstatic that I got my T-Rex and I bought the kit with5 cartos thinking that with refilling that will do until another pay period, but I'm afraid that may not be the case. I filled 2 immediately using the condom (plastic end piece method) and tried them both out without any problems. I stored one in my case to take to work, yesterday and was vamping the other. the one iwas vaping was fine for my stealth hits at work and when I left work I had a couple of "hot" hits, but still getting good vape but I thought it was a good time to change. My stored one wouldn't hit at all! I looked at it still appeared saturated. Tried it again to no avail and then added a couple of drops---still no vape!!! Then I tried the first again, and it still had the hot taste---opened it an the is a burnt hole in the top of the filter! thinking I was doing something wrong, I went on YouTube and watched several vids including doctorvapoor and it looks like I was filling them correctly. So last night, I filled my last three---tested and they seem fine. I'm scared that I may have the same issue tonight. If so, any suggestions? Is this normal? Sadly, I filled them with 12 mg and that doesn't seem to be enough nic this morning lol but that's another story heh.
Any thoughts would be appreciated and any suggestions on inexpensive refillable cartos would be appreciated too since I'm now panicking. Thanks

the one that was burnt may have been to low on juice my friend burnt 2 cartos up by not keeping them topped off
same thing burnt hole in center
try to keep them wet and they will last
the one that wont fire may be a bad carto or maybe the center pin may need to be adjusted (pull center pin down )

Unfortunately...

It sounds like the one is a bad Carto. I don't know which Cartos came in the T-Rex pack, but in my experience way back when I found that sometimes the "kits" have some bad cartos in them, just because they are usually of a lower quality.

Try these if you haven't looked into the boge's already.. these and the SmokTech Dual Coils are my go to vapes. But, I'm not certain you should use the dual coils on the T-Rex, might be too low of an OhM rating.

Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers - I would recommend the 2.0 Ohm for a hotter vape, and 2.7 + for a cooler vape

As far as the filling goes, when I first started out, I really didn't realize how often I needed to fill up the Cartos. (This is why I got a bottom feeder, this one specifically - Reo Grand)

Usually when you think you start to get an "off-taste" or "hot-vape" with a carto, you've gone too far. Need to be a bit more proactive in topping them off, even just adding a few drops after every cigarette type of vaping session will help a lot.

However, I have been doing this for a while and I still will occasionally burn a carto. It gets easier with practice and once you've established about how long it is before you need to top off your cartos. But still, accidents happen. This is why Cartos are cheaper than Atomizers in some respects, because it is easier to ruin them.

Just keep the carto wet. You can drip your juice directly onto the filler if you take off the mouth cap.
