Carto Question?

I'm still trying out my 555 cartos for the VK and I'm hardly getting ANY vapor. Is this normal? I get some flavor on inhale, a little tiny poof of vapor on a primer puff and then nothing comes out on exhale.

Granted, I'm used to VG but this PG carto has damn near NO vapor. It seems like I have to really draw hard to get anything. I've seen more vapor than this in videos... Is there something I need to fiddle with to get it working better?

Hmmm, no you should definitely be getting some, and more so if it's one of the new premium 555s. Since you are doing a primer puff, I assume you are on an auto battery? If so, pay attention to the LED on the end to see to it that it's staying activated for the duration of the draw. Also make sure your battery is fully charged and that the carto is screwed on tight enough to get a good connection. You can check to make sure the threads and battery contacts are clean (if not, a q-tip works nicely here). Finally, you will get more vapor by NOT drawing hard - draw only hard enough to activate the battery (for an auto) and take a long soft draw (3-5 seconds at minimum) into the mouth first, then the lungs. And don't hold the vapor too long in the lungs, the longer you hold it, the less vapor you get on the exhale. If you've already tried all these things, hit us up again; we'll get it figured out!

Actually, I have a manual battery. The primer puff is kind of a holdover from my auto batteries that I started with. I've tried drawing direct also. Tried a gentle draw and a strong draw. Same results. I also cleaned the battery and have wiggled it at different tightness... Same same.

Just tried a new carto from the same pack and it seems to be working marginally better. Still very little vapor though. I've not been holding in my draw and did like you mentioned, which is how I normally vape and it's still pretty light.

Maybe my lungs just keep PG vapor?

Though it happens very infrequently on the old carts I have gotten a couple of carts that just didn't have a good draw. Usually I just drain the juice out, put the juice in another cart to vape, and pitch the crappy drawing cart.

I always have some flavorless 0mg VG around to make more vapor whenever needed because without lots of vapor I'm personally very unsatisfied. I just use about 4 drops of this and then 1-2 drops of 56mg VG flavorless.

I just started mixing the 0mg VG myself. I ordered high quality VG for a very low price and cut it with a small amount of distilled water to thin it to the desired consistency. It doesn't take much water to loosen it up. I found out the hard way by trying 1/2 & 1/2 the first time. Start with mostly VG and add small amounts of distilled water until you like it. I got 125ml for 10 bucks and the distilled water is a buck/gallon. Beats the 20 bucks (13+7 shipping) I was paying for the 15ml bottles I was buying!!!!!

So I drained a carto and put some of my own vg in it and... still kinda weak but much better vapor. Maybe 510s have ruined me for other models?
