this is a good toy to start with: Smok Locking DCT Tank

Just be aware that the U-DCT tanks don't work with eGo beauty ring thread covers because the locking ring actually makes the tank thicker at the bottom. Also they don't work as well with some mods that normally flush mount, the thickness of the ring causes air restrictions. I have the normal and the slim versions of the Smok U-DCTs.

Hi Ben. Grats on your acheivement! And thank you for discovering electricity. :p

Let me state at the start, that any tank that uses polyfill (cartotanks) or silica string wicks (clearotanks) may have issues with thick or dark colored juice. You may need to dilute your juices with some distilled water to make them less viscous.

I generally recommend new cartotank uses to try a complete tank kit from either My Vapor Store or IBTanked.

The 3.5 ml Pro DCT tank is a slimmer tank that would go well with an eGo battery. Along with the tank, you'll get a drip tip mouthpiece and your choice of five cartomizers. For a Twist I recommend getting 2.5 ohm single coil cartomizers. $21

Or, the pyrex tank (19mm diameter) called IBTanked. You'll get the tank, a dual-purpose drip tip/tank accessory tool, and the appropriate length pre-punched carto. $25. I suggest getting additional pre-punched cartomizers, which are available on site.

Here's a cartotank setup guide that I have prepared for new vapors: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

This picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices has basic information on cartomizers and cartotanks in general: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Be sure to match the proper length of cartomizer with the tank length you choose:

For a carto noob, I figured the U-DCT would help prevent MESSY mistakes.
Also, BenFranklin, you'll need a blunt tipped syringe

this is the best tank i have used - http://www.vaporbeast.com/AGR-Carto-Tank-3-4mL-Stainless-p/agrct.htm
use with these carts - 5 pack Boge Pre Punched Cartomizer
pair it with this drip tip - http://www.vaporbeast.com/Cyclone-Drip-Tip-Stainless-p/a49.htm

the tank locks the carto in place so no accidental mess, also the bottom piece on the tank has its own air holes so it is perfect to use with a beauty ring on a twist.

you will probably want to use the lr(low resistance) carto on a twist for best performance. you can use either the 35mm or xl as the agr tank comes with both sizes of tank tubes to accommodate.

Good luck and i hope this helps.

I started out on cartos and a twist. great combo because cartos are pretty durable and you dont have to worry as much about refilling. also you can crank up the voltage depending on your juice. I recommend the boge cartos and maybe the artemis tank to match the width of your ego. you can pick up a beauty ring for the ego thats a small sphere ring that hides the cone threading on the ego since cartos only use the 510 connection.

enjoy!

Thanks for all the replies! There are sooo many choices it can get confusing quick. I started with a few CE5's which are so so to me. I also have a protank but even when i build my coils with 32g kanthal and 2.5mm silica I still don't get much flavor. I found the evods to have more taste but when I use them they heat up really quick. Just looking for the best overall flavor to stay off analogs.

I have the Artemas tank. Had some issues with it leaking and realized it might have been operator error. Sure enough I googled some videos today and realized I was not securing all the parts correctly. I'll blame the learning curve I suppose and now have it fugured out. Vaping Caramel Apple with a straight caramel mix right now, pretty nice.

For you Artemas vets (sbj217 and anyone else)>how often do you have to change out the cartomizer? Maybe this info can be found elsewhere, will look around in here but Artemas returned almost nothing on the search.

With my SMOK single coil 2.0, I'm getting about four days average from my Zeus RY4, and going on two weeks with FuzionVapor Unicorn Blood.
