Carto w/ Ego?

No. The cheapest routes are to keep reusing the cart or to drip. Cartos only last so long, they are sold as disposable. Personally I vape them heavy about 5 days and pitch them. I figure I spend about .25 a day on cartos this way. Some people will wash and reuse them over and over. There's some reading here if you decide to keep reusing them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...9-vk-bloog-totem-808-dpv9-smoke51-etc-47.html

I must now warn you, you are dealing with a total noob here.

I just ordered an ego kit but have not received it yet. I thought one advantage of the ego was a fairly large cart that lasted a while. Is the advantage that you can carry around prefilled cartos with ease? In other words, Have some ready that you can just pop right in. Or does each one last longer?

The definite advantage of the EGO is that the battery life is much longer than say, a standard 510 Manual battery. From everything I've read so far, it's at least double battery life, if not more (depending on your personal usage of course).
And yes, the advantage of cartos is that they are very convenient and easily switched out. You can also refill your cartos if you wish. I wouldn't suggest trying this while driving though ;) Some people do refill or drip when driving, but being a newbie myself (my kit should arrive today or tomorrow - excitement!!) I won't be trying that anytime soon. :)

You can get the mega cartsfor teh ego. There is also a mega cartodesigned for the ego as well, that is big and works well. But the standard carts that come with it are no different than a regular 510. Ask away nOOb:D

I did not know this - learn another "something new" today. Thanks!

I also started with the eGo. From what I gather, although I have no first-hand knowledge of this, the eGo specific cartomizers are hard to fill and require a syringe. I have a hard enough time trying to get drops to go in there and I've never been any good at darts, so I'm thinking me and a syringe is probably not going to be very successful.

As a newbie who still has not settled on my bestest every day vaping flavor, the advantage of cartomizers is that with carts and dripping, some flavors get on your atomizer and won't go away, so until I've personally 'vetted' a flavor, it is relegated to a cartomizer. I suspect that there are some flavors that should never (tongue firmly in cheek!) be put on an atomizer/cart unless it is specific to that flavor....some of the cinnamon atomics come to mind, which are liable to leave you with a bacon-mint-red hot that may not be as pleasing as you might at first think.

Of course, I've got a little OCD going and am one of those people who can't let the foods on her plate touch, so the kootification of your flavors may not be an issue for you. ;)

You are correct to my knowledge as far as the only way I know of refilling is a syringe. As far as being Ego specific, they are to an extent. They'll thread on any 510 connector but, the have a "skirt" that hangs down to cover the cone threads on the ego, thus making the threads recessed in the skirt. You can however cut that "skirt" off and expose the threads. I hope that helps? I really like them, and find that they are lower ohm than the regular cartos, making them hold more liquid, vape a little warmer, and produce more vapor. A little pricey for a carto though.

I've been using cartos for about four months on my Ego. I started with KR808s and an adapter. I'm using Bogue 510s right now from Litecig and Rocky Mountain Vapor - silver threads and free shipping over 14 bucks- and Super T Manufactruing drip tips. I use the shorty Delren (plastic). The tips replace the white caps and allow quick access to refill by dripping down the sides to top off 5-10 drops. To refill I use the .... plug and condom to drip 15-20 drops.

I just ordered some of the Ego cartomizers to try. They look like they are the next step up. I especially like that the atomizer is at the bottom and wrapped with silica rope so it will lessen or maybe even elimate burn vs the wire type. I never did like the SLB type -gold threads - with the element at the top of the batting. They burned quickly for me.

I'm hoping that as more vendors begin to carry them they will come down in price as it's wayyy to high right now at 4 bucks apeice.

:)
