Cartomizer and tank question

Do you have to use dual coil cartomizers in tank...or can any carto be used.

So long as the carto is punched or slotted and the "correct size" for the tank it doesn't matter.

i think you have to use dual, if you want single you will have to cut your tank to make it shorter.

If you are using a regular carto like a boge you will need a short tank. I use the 1.7 xl cartos and they fit the regular sized tanks.

There are a few places that sell the short tanks. I ended up making a short one from a Ego dcc. I bought a dual and didnt like it so I reused the endcaps to make one I do like. If you are refering to the Smoktech DCT, yes you can use single coil tanks. The are a few places that sell the Smoktech 1.7 ohm single coil cartos that are punched and have the flange for the tank:

Actually it's the other way around. There are a lot of places that sell the shorter tanks for regular single coil cartos. Single coil cartos & tanks were available before anyone ever thought of dual coil cartos.
If you have dual coil tanks both Smoktech and Boge make single coil cartos that fit them. Smoktech has 1.7 and 2.5ohm, and Boge has 2 and 2.9ohm. So there is no shortage of choices.
These are the ones that I use in my DCT;

In the inexpensive tanks I couldnt find but a few places that had them a few months ago everyone seemed to be out of them. If I wanted an expensive $45 one those were all over. I ended up making one that I like better than the Dc I bought and I even used some decorative film to make it the color I want.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but another option that I've seen mentioned (to use a short carto, like Boge, in a longer tank) is to use a cylindrical drip tip (same diameter as carto). Part of the tip acts as a carto extension, and part sticks out of the tank. I haven't tried it, but I'm sure you could find more info with a search. I've been happy with the Smoktech single coils (in a DCT, on an eGo battery).

okay so if I punch my own cartos I can use any xl carto in these tank

Also I have heard that you dont need the flange if you just swap the delrin pieces around?

I just bought some of the new Boge XL 2 ohm cartos and fit perfectly in the DCTs without cutting the tank down. Slot or punch and go!

I use the Madvapes Chrome DCT and did just that.

awesome..well i guess I bought 10 regular boge cartos that can not fit on a tank although i did buy some of their flanged tank replacement cartos in case this situation were to arise..um i bought a 510 to 808 adapter..will i have any trouble using xl 808s with this tank? Also..anyone ever stick a ce2 in one of these tanks?
