Okay...my KR8 should be delivered today. What is the best way to fill new/refill used cartomizers? I found this video on youtube: YouTube - Refill Ecig Cartos Quick and Easy (CCFM)

It looks like on one of them they dipped the threaded end in and on the other they dipped the filling end in. Which of these is better or is there a different (better/easier) way to do it?

I don't want to ruin my nice fresh blank cartomizers (or waste juice) doing it the wrong way.

Thanks!!

Oh...and if I end up needing an XL battery, do I need a different charger, or will the charger I receive work for both regular and XL?

Thanks all...I'm so excited to use something other than this crappy super mini I started with!! Just praying that nothing is missing from my order or not working!

I only use soft-cap cartos (Vapor4Life or soft-cap blanks for KR808D-1, Boge or SLB soft-caps for 510). I pop the soft-cap and fill them as they were meant to be filled, into the stuffing.

If you have some "name" brand that tries to discourage filling by using hard to remove end caps on normal stuffing-type cartos (you do not have one of these name brands but I don't know what cartos you bought), then you may need to push in juice with a carto condom or worst case dripping in the battery hole. And be very careful if you have automatic batteries - they are depending on the drag sensor through a hole in the threaded end of the battery - drips can kill your battery.

If you have reservoir cartos you have to use the recommended syringe or disassemble it and hope you can get it back together right.

XL batteries for KR8 (the slim ones - not a Pigcig or Elegant Easy) use the same charger but do not fit in the PCC with the lid closed (however you might be able to charge them with the PCC lid open - the Vapor4Life PCC usually has a screw socket that can angle up for doing that).

What cartos did you buy - do you have a link to them?

This is a great video guide for soft-cap KR8 standard stuffing-type carto filling, and includes extra stuff like straightening the center channel which I sometimes need to do after using a carto for several days (if the center channel no longer lines up with the threaded end hole)

In addition, I usually hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end if I am doing first fill or adding a lot of juice. When done I make sure it is done dripping (if it dripped), make sure the threaded end is clean and dry, and I puff into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear. If I overfilled and have juice pooled above the stuffing, I may clean that up a bit with a pointy bit of tissue.

And when I have a hot carto, I use a drip tip as a mouthpiece.

I ordered: KR808D-1 PREMIUM Blank Soft Cap Cartomizers

So I drip the juice onto the stuffing? Okay...(sorry I'm such a noob) so do I put on a few drops at a time and let them absorb before adding more? How do I know when it is full? Again, sorry for all the questions...I don't have much money so I can't afford to waste anything. Thanks for putting up with me!

Yes - you got good soft-caps. You pop out the mouth-end soft-cap by sticking in an unbent paperclip just enough to pop the cap (you don't want to catch stuffing with the paperclip).

The filling procedure is shown in the video I linked. I rotate when filling to drip on all sides. The guy in the video drips in one place then turn it and drips once. My additional cleanups I wrote above are to prevent hot drops from sputtering out if there is a bit of loose liquid around in there.

After the first fill you may need to let it settle for a while for the juice to distribute well through the stuffing. The first drags may not make much vapor - it may act like a flooded atty. But once it vaporizes any excess on the the internal atty it will be fine. Then whenever the vapor seems a bit light or a bit dry, I take the carto off the battery and add some juice (5-10 drops - whatever it seems to need). Then I check for leaks, puff into the threaded end to clear the air channel, recap and use.

I recommend getting a plastic or delrin drip tip to use when you have an especially hot carto. LiteCigUSA.net sells both black delrin and clear colored plastic drip tips for 510/901/KR8 (work on all three). You can stick it on a carto instead of the white mouth-end cap. Cool on the lips and easier to remove for adding a bit of juice. Don't drip through it though unless you are using it on a atomizer. With a carto the juice would be aiming right for the center air channel.

I like both the Delrin and the clear colored plastic ones for on cartos - the clear colors plastic ones at LiteCigUSA.net are a bit textured on the outside and the Delrin black is smooth. I like both. I and now I can drag longer what I happen to have a hot carto.

One warning though - the opening of a drip tip is larger than the opening of a white cap so if a freshly filled carto is sputtering hot drops, one could more easily hit you right on the tongue. That's why I do a good cleanup of the air channel and any loose pooled juice.
