I cannot tell when a cartomizer is ready to be filled (or changed) until I get a burnt taste, which I know is not good!

I really really do NOT want to drip every now and then. I went through that with cartridges and the capacity and ease are one of the reasons I went with the kr808 style.

My problem seems to be I get good vapor right til the end and I dont really notice a change or drop in flavor, though my taste buds are very clear yet.

I do taste the burn immediately and then stop vaping. I refill, let it sit awhile and my first drag is always good, no burning taste at all. I'm on my 3rd or 4th fill now and it seems to be working fine.

So I guess my question is, is it ok to keep on like this? Am I harming the carto?

The first hint of low vapor..loss of taste or that weirdo taste//refill or change cartos!
But I have to tell you..I know the taste you are getting at the end..a slightly bitter "off" taste. That's the stop vaping NOW taste. Girl..that is NOT the burned carto taste..that is just horrible and there is no amount of washing, filling or drying will remove it.

OooH, That's such good news. I thought I was missing the marshmallow taste n going straight to burnt taste yet come to find out I was tasting what I should and I was doing it right all along!

I would never have thought for a moment this is the answer I'd get. lol I'm so thrilled now I can't tell you!

I just really wanted something to work right after trying cartridges, attys and tanks. I was starting to get discouraged thinking once again I was having a different experience than others!

Thanks so much.

Ok... now to be seious. Early on, I did not realize my carto was dry, and I was still waiting for some higher nicotine carts to arrive. I took two HUGE, long deep draws. I cannot even describe how bad it was, I wanted to quit vaping. I had a toxic burnt plastic taste that no amount of toothbrushing or Listerine could remove. The taste was coming from my lungs. It stayed with me for almost 24 hours, and even woke me up several times that night. It was awful.

This is my only concern about the health risks of vaping, the dry carto burn. I top off my cartos frequently now, as I do not ever want to repeat that experience. If in doubt, top off or discard for cleaning is my motto now. If I even suspect I might have burned a carto, I throw it out. For me, even the slightest suspicion of vaping a carto that may be near empty means it gets retired, one way or another... top off, put it in the 'to clean' pile, or throw it out.
