You can use cartos with short mode, the carto sticks out the top and you just use your own drip tip ;-)

What you need is:
-Ody base
-Short mode tank body
-top cap assembly
-510/CE2 insert (part of the expansion pack, the above are all short mode parts)

For a punched carto, you screw the carto into the E2 side (the one without the cutouts) with an o-ring around the base of the carto (just like in CE2 mode). This will prevent juice from feeding in through the connector and it will feed through the punched hole like in a normal carto tank

For a non-punched carto, screw the carto into the end of the insert with the cutouts (like you would in 510 mode for Ody). You won't have any control of the juice flow, so there's a good chance it'll just flood. I haven't tried it, but I assume you're better off using the above method

There are "shorty" cartomizers available, I think Bruce might have them, I can't recall where I saw them. Those are probably short enough to use in Ody in full 510 mode

I just thought of a way to have juice control while feeding a carto via the connector end. Maybe if you use 2 or 3 of the lock down rings that go around the rebuildable part and put them around the 510/CE2 insert you can position them over the cutouts to reduce juice flow, same concept as the juice control in the original AVS :) I think it would work, you just wouldn't be able to adjust it with juice in the tank

Guys why would you want to vape a carto when you have a fantastic invention like the Ody's rebuildable atty???
Well, perhaps it has something to do with a Ody thread with 106 posts, about leakage.

Some people are cool with modding, and trying things to make it work perfectly. Others, aren't.

Not .....ing, so please don't see it that way.

But I don't have the time to rebuild this thing every x days, nor do I have the time to keep up on the latest tip (i.e. double the wick, wrap the negative wire 3/4 around the body, etc etc) Perhaps I'll try them sometime.

There are some, despite having an 'advanced user device', who are going to gravitate towards 'low maintance' with high performance. I can get it with the ikenvapes, some might get it with an EC2, which can perform well.

Different strokes....

I can see a couple reasons. My dad is a good example. He normally works 10-12 hours a day hard work climbing in and out of tanks carying 100 lbs of equipment 100 ft up and down ladders ect. When he gets off work he is dead tired and the last thing he wants to worry about is building a coil or swapping wick ect. For him he uses a Carto and a UFS when the carto is bad he tosses it and replaces.

That being said UFS was discontinued because the Ody is supposed to be able to replace the UFS and iAtty with one complete package. So finding a way to use cartos in it would be a good thing for some people.

fright88, I see your point and it's fully understandable but there are much cheaper solutions. Leave the Ody with coil and wick and get a cheap eGo battery for a nice Boge LR carto as a everyday easy vape. Treat yourself to the Ody every now and then.

Another good reason to bring back the UFS - I know alot of people who will not fiddle with a rebuildable - they want simple, easy and cartos/UFS is the way to go.
