Guys, the Ava Atty from Thermovape has been using porous ceramic on top of the coil and a different piece of ceramic for the coil for a long time, but it's not quit perfected yet in my opinion, it needs some SS Wool mesh underneath of the ceramic to correct the draw and also to help it hold the liquids more. It works and flavor is pretty dam good using the ceramic, it doesnt gunk up bad either. I got some samples recently from a company and have been using it myself and experimenting for a while now myself, all I can say is it works pretty darn well as long as you speck out the right type to let the liquid fall through, and the piece the actual Kanthal is wrapped around isnt so porous but a special Spec but porous can be used for sure.

If you all want to know more about it and how to spec it out properly go to the following website and Read, they school you on it here = Soilmoisture Equipment - Agricultural and Hydrologic Testing Equipment, Soil Water Sampling, Tensiometers, Moisture Retention Curves and TDR Technology

You are talking about the Alpha RES system right? I have one as well (and screw it right into my GGTB), and it works ok, but is finicky and doesnt hold much liquid.

When it works, it tastes AMAZING, rivals Genesis wicks and Ody coils. Just too intermittent and small volume in liquid. Id love to see Imeo get his mitts on the idea and run with it

Yes, that's the one. It wouldn't fit on my GGTS, not quite anyway. It is finicky, but the idea isn't bad. I'd like to see what Imeo could do with it as well.

I see the holy grail of attys in discussion here :) I agree whole heartedly that a more permanent wicking solution would make the oddy / Penelope the best vaping solution out there.

Btw, the inventor of the genesis atty is working on something that supposedly has a wicking solution that does not need replacement (atleast that's what I got from the thread) He is going to reveal it in a few months once he gets his patents for it.
