Hei guys :)

I'm new to the forum; I'm slowly entering in the deep world of e-cigs. I'm on my way to buy a VV-ecig, probably the lavatube ones. I looked at lots of review (like GrimmGreen, Scott, and so on) and from what I understand it's a good way to enter in the e-cigs World.

But I'm having several issue about the cartomizer: I would like to buy a TUBE tank from VOLCANOecigs and I see that with a Dual Coil Cartomizer/tank(?) it's not working correctly [ on the lavatube, of course ].
So I think I'm gonna buy the TUBETANK 7ml Single Coil Cartomizer ones.
My first issue is: without the Cartomizer in it, from what it differ a single coil TANK to the dual coil tank? Because from what I've understand the difference is not on the tank in itself but in the carto.

My second issue is about buying empty cartomizer to replace (after I'll garbaged the first one) on TUBE TANK.
I would like to buy empty cartomizer from ENjuice.com because I'm going to buy juice from there too: to this link ( Atomisers & Cartomisers ) you can access to ENjuice cartomizer&atomizer store. There are several pack of replace (I'm gonna buy the standard resistance/3ohm ones) but I don't understand if is gonna fit for my TUBEtank or not. Just to remember: I'm gonna buy the TUBEtank 7ml single coil so I need to buy the single coil carto (501) too.
Is this correct ( 510 Tank Cartomiser 3.0 Ohm - 5 Pack ) or this ( 510 Standard Resistance Cartomiser - 5 Pack ) ? Are there special carto to replace in the TUBE tank (or in generally in tanks) or it's the same having a normal 501 carto?
The description in the site really doesn't help :(

Thank you guys ;)

I'd avoid the Lavatube. I'd start with a genuine Joyetech eGo-C Twist (altsmoke has the best price on genuines - there's a lot of knockoffs out there). For the price of a Lavatube you could have 2 batteries which is the beginnings of a backup. The problem with your plan is if that Lavatube fails, what are you gonna do? You're gonna smoke, that's what.

The VV Gripper is a better option in my book than a lavatube IMO anyway, but even so, it's still not a backup.

I recommend that before you take the leap that you click the link in my signature to the Vaper's Handbook. It's the culmination of over 9 months of painstaking research and I wrote it to help people like you. Use it to your advantage.

As for carto tanks, the Phiniac or the J-tank will probably be your best bet. Boge used to be the best carto but there's been some issues out there. Best to read up on that in the Vaper's Handbook before you put your money on the table there. I have Boges that are literally as old as I am in the vaper world, over 8 months. 7 still work out of 10 after dozens of cleanings. I still have 1 brand new in the box never needed to use it. You're going to need a dremel to slot them (also detailed in the handbook) as well. And you may want a filling tool.

As for juice ECBlends is the most inexpensive ejuice on the market and they have a flavor wizard which lets you customize your juice. 70/30 PG/VG is the perfect ratio for a carto tank. Any more VG than that and you will not like the results as much.

All of this information is there, in great detail so read on up and learn everything I know in a short period of time the easy way is my best advice to you. An informed shopper is a happy shopper.

Really thank you for the information, I'll read that and continue my search upon the Beggining Ecigs to comes with.
About blends: I'm Italian so I would prefer to shop in EUROPE/UK because custom tariffs in Italy from USA could be a big problem. But same problem for tank, of course.

About my issue, what could you tell me?

I've been lucky with the Boge carto's I've used. Haven't had any issues yet. Another option for tanks may be this site.
IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!
I looked and it shows your in Italy. I really don't know about the shipping. But the IB Tanks are made of Pyrex glass. I've got three of them so far and have had no problems with leaks or being slippery. Will agree with ShogaNinja on the Phiniac tank being really well made. Just got mine last night. But you can get started with the IB Tank for around $20-$22 US.

Thank all of you guys for great support on my first eCig/tank/carto/whatever.
I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to buy my Lavatube today.

I'm going to decide today about the tank too.
I've few more doubt about the compatibility between carto and tank. I have to use a single coil cartoTank, so: if I'm gonna buy Standard Boge Cartos (510) []£0.00 - Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid and put it on a DCTank is that gonna work as Single Coil Tank?
But Kanger Clearo looks good too. I seearched on this forum and found that lot of people is enjoying without noise.

So that's it: CartoTank with Boge Cartos (510) or a Kanger Clearo with heads?

I'm sorry for lots of question but I'm a newbie who's searching his way to vape :)

I'm not trying to tell you not to get a vivi nova but I recently (2-3 weeks ago) bought a mini lavatube and put a vivi nova on it and I'm already done with it and wanting to try a carto tank. It may just be me but the nova just seems to be a pain in my .... after using a T2 clearo on my ego style battery that I moved up from. As far as the lavatube goes though, I like it my only complaint is the threads are crooked but work just fine. Just my opinion.

Oh that's really a good information before buying unuseful items!
I wanted to use Boge because lot of people (like you) tell that Boges are great, and it perfectly fit for lavatube.
But.. I'm wondering if that's real for every DCTank. Because from the same site [ 35mm DC Tank Kit £9.95 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid ] and [ Coloured Tanks 6ml £9.99 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid ] the description information tells that it works with those cartos (the first one is specifically referring to Boge Standard Carto in the site, and that sound strange to me).

Am I having problems with logic reasoning or to a newbie it sounds cryptic?

Thanks for goood tips! Stay tuned :)

To the original poster: I looked at the Tube Tank you were referring to in your above post Tube Tank

I can easily understand your confusion. I'm a veteran carto-tanker and I couldn't figure out which tank was the 4ml tank and which was the 7ml tank from the pics, and the discription was no help either. I'd stay away from buying a tank from that website. One would think they would try to explain things more simply than that if they wanted to avoid customer service issues later on. Just my take. You can do far better than buying one of their tanks with polycarbonate plastic tubes at that price, too. Polycarbonate plastic tubes can crack or even melt with certain juice flavors....stay away from buying those.

For an extremely simplified description of the more common vaping attachments available, including cartotanks, clearomizers, etc, click on the blog entries under my avatar and read the entry "Proper Terminology - is it a carto or a tank?".

    Tanks come in two lengths:

    Standard size
that uses a 35mm standard length cartomizer (ie. Boge, Ikenvape), and a

XL size that uses 45mm XL length cartomizers (ie. Smoktech dual coil, Boge XL size, Mega Ikenvape).

So either pick the size tank you wish to use and then the appropriate length carto to fit in it, or pick the length of cartomizer you wish to use and then use the appropriate length of tank.

The Phiniac website has pictures to show which brand of cartomizers will fit in the different lengths of tanks here: Tank Sizes & Cartos - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

The above visual presentation may simplify your understanding of the tank size to carto length (carto brand).
    ______________

Now, in order for a cartotank to work, the cartomizer must have holes in it to allow juice from the tank to get inside of the cartomizer. You can punch the cartos yourself with a carto punch tool, or many online vendors offer these with holes ready to fill and put into the tank.

As a beginner, I'd recommend you find a vendor who sells pre-punched cartos. This just reduces some human error factors and provides more consistancy at the start. Once you get the hang of tanking, you can learn how to punch your own should you desire.

When you make your choice of cartomizers to buy, be aware that they come in different threadings: 510, 801, and 808. Order the correct one for your battery's connector post.

Do a search on YouTube for both "filling a cartomizer"and also "how to fill a cartomizer tank" to familiarize yourself with the proper techniques involved to reduce errors and frustration.
