I've been noticing that my cartomizers which I exclusively use in tanks (almost entirely J-tanks) never survive much longer than one tankful. After that, the vapor production goes way down, and replacing it seems to be the only way to get back to the lovely vapor satisfaction I love

Is this typical, or might there be something I'm doing wrong (which I can't really think of)? I'm just going through about a cartomizer a day, keeping them all working. That, plus the ml or so of juice I'm throwing away each time has me wondering...

th3tick...........Unfortunatly most carto's are hit or miss. Make sure you are topping off your carto's when you first insert them into the tank. Not sure how many holes are punched in the carto's you are using? I have found two holes(one on each side)seem to work best at keeping the carto moist. A good carto will still only last me two days tops!

Your post is valid with the amount of liquid that is wasted with a bad carto. That's the primary reason I have switched back to carto's without the tank. Far easier to throw away a carto without the hassle of having to empty the tank as well.

Good Luck!

zapped.....It could just be a matter of taste as opposed to how long the carto will actually perform. I have gone as long as a week with some(Boges mostly),I just seem to think that the flavor seems to drop off considerably after a day or two. Performance is still going strong by that time. Still never had a carto die before I tossed it due to flavor drop off.

Thanks for the heads up on the Smoketek carto's!

This is one of those "subjective" scenarios. A cartomizer will last as long as you want it to. That's the answer. But, it's performance WILL slowly decrease more and more. I use the SMOK super shorty's on my REOs and bottom feeders and I find that sometimes I will be satisfied with one for a month and other times, I can taste a distinct "old" flavor in my vape within a couple of weeks. Or the draw becomes so incredibly tight that it makes me light headed just trying to pull through it.

In my experiences when I was using carto tanks, I found that 2-3 weeks was about the limit for me. This was using the SMOK pre-punched cartos.
